Say hello to Jim and Jo, our lovely new managers at the Windmill! 👋

They’ve already fallen in love with the pub, so we thought it was time you got to know them a little better.

Jim and Jo met in 1993, went on holiday… and ended up travelling for years! Their adventures took them to Corfu and the French Alps, before they tied the knot in Mauritius in 1999. They have one daughter and over 30 years of hospitality experience between life abroad and here at home.

Jim used to be a professional ski instructor, so if you love skiing, you’ll have plenty to chat about. He’s also a Leeds United fan and previously worked in the club’s hospitality team. He’s already found a golfing partner in our head chef Tony and joined Linton Tennis Club - we’re beginning to wonder how he fits it all in!

Jo lived in Athens for seven years, speaks Greek and even learned to ski in Greece. She’s a great squash player too, so we suspect she could give Jim a run for his money when it comes to sport! 👀

Their drinks of choice? A gin and tonic or a good glass of w**e. Much easier to enjoy than a game of squash, if you ask us.

We’re so pleased to have them here. Pop in, say hello and help us give Jim and Jo a proper Windmill welcome! ❤

Throughout October, we’re hosting Halloween costume competitions on Instagram! 5 winners will receive b**r!

Competition 1 - Guess The Label!

Tell us: what Tartarus B**r label is he dressed up as?? Every Thursday, we’re posting a picture of our *expert level* Halloween costumes, where we have dressed up as one of our b**r labels. This is Sam, our digital artist, who draws all of our beautiful labels... And now he is butchering one of them! But which one?

To Enter:
1 - Follow us on Instagram and like this post.
2 - Put your guess in the comments, and tag 2 of your friends.
We’ll choose our winner on Monday, who will get our Monster Collection Gift Box! And if you didn’t get it this time, there will be another chance every Thursday in October!

Competition 2 - Tartarus Cosplay Competition!

Do you think you can do better than us at dressing up as one of our labels? Prove it! There is a GRAND PRIZE up for grabs for the best cosplay of one of our b**r labels!

To Enter:
1 - Follow us on Instagram and like this post.
2 - Dress up as of any of our b**r labels and take a photo. You are welcome to edit the photo, add a new background etc. but please: NO AI (we will check!)
3 - Post the photo to your feed and stories, tagging us in. Put the name of the b**r in the caption.
You have until the end of October. We will choose our favourite at the beginning of November. The winner will get a goodybox, filled with b**r and merch!
