🌍 Could CISV be your child’s next adventure? ✈️

Ever wondered what it’s really like to take part in a CISV programme?

Come along to our CISV Afternoon Tea and hear directly from some of the children and young people who have been away to Japan, Germany and Essex (!) with CISV this summer. They’ll be sharing their adventures, the friends they’ve made, the places they’ve visited and what the experience was really like.

It’s a great opportunity for families who are curious about CISV to:

🌎 Discover the opportunities available
🗣️ Hear real stories from this summer’s participants
❓ Ask questions about what’s involved
🤝 Meet other CISV families
🍰 And enjoy afternoon tea while you do it!

Whether you’ve heard a little about CISV already or have absolutely no idea what we do, everyone is welcome. There’s no commitment - just come along, have some cake and find out where CISV could take you.

📅 Sunday 13th September
⏰ 3-5pm

Come for the cake. Leave inspired for your next adventure. 🌍💙

And that’s a wrap for the summer.
All our travellers have returned safe and sound (and a little bit tired but very happy).
Massive thanks to our Village and International Youth Meeting hosts in CISV Japan 🇯🇵 and our Step-Up hosts in CISV Germany 🇩🇪 . They’ve all had a fabulous time, experiencing things they’ve never done before, and meeting friends new and old.
Our Junior Counsellor thoroughly enjoyed her 4 weeks supporting the CISV London Village and helping the 11 year olds with their activities. 🇬🇧
Also a huge thanks to everyone in Leeds who helped with the Seminar Camp we held in Bramhope, we really could not make it a success without all the volunteers.
Hopefully we’ll see many of you again in the next stage of the CISV International journey.

Our youngest delegation has set off to Tokai 🇯🇵 and wow what an experience that is going to be for our delegation of 11 year olds.

Spending a few weeks away with delegations from around the world 🌍 will introduce them to cultural understanding, global friendships and communication across borders.

Massive thanks to Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation for your support in getting our team over there.

It’s the time of year we’ve all been waiting for… our delegations are departing to their camps and the endless opportunities that come with them.

First to head off is our Step Up group who have gone to Cologne 🇩🇪

This programme is for 14-15 year olds and gives the children chance to take leading roles in planning and organising activities, around the camp theme which could be anything from identity, democracy to environmental protection.

We hope they have a fabulous time and we look forward to catching up with them when they return.

This summer we are very excited to be sending two delegations to Japan 🇯🇵

Our 11 year olds village delegation are heading to CISV 日本協会 東海支部 Tokai for 4 weeks, with opportunity to embed themselves in Japanese culture, whilst also meeting children from around the world gain a greater cultural understanding.

Our 13 year olds are heading to an International Youth Meeting for 2 weeks in Kansai. They will be learning about the local Japanese culture and discussing the theme of “Hamon” meaning ring of water, and how to deal with our own rings colliding with others.

The delegates have spent the year fundraising through different methods from mowing neighbours lawns, fish-sitting, to charity bingo sessions. We want to say a huge thank you to the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation who have kindly provided us with a grant to support the delegations travel costs. This has helped ensure the trips are accessible to all, and we look forward to reporting back on the huge impact these trips will have on the kids, and British-Japanese cultural understanding.

What a fabulous afternoon at the Meanwood Tavern for the family bingo session.
We started off with Sophie giving an intro to CISV, then straight into the bingo where there were prizes galore (particularly for one table). 🍋
Much fun was had, and proceeds went towards the funding for the Japan trip. 🇯🇵
