Northern Poets Take Wing / Leeds Songbook Project – 12pm

What happens when poets take wing? They create songs! Curated by Hannah Stone, this event engages two recent New Northern Poets, Rachel Curzon and Laura Strickland, in discussion about words and music.

Seacroft Canto / Kimberly Campanello – 2pm

Taking inspiration from Dante’s Divine Comedy, The Seacroft Canto was co-created by the Seacroft community and poet Kimberly Campanello. This new translation of Dante’s 700-year-old poem reflects Seacroft’s local and interconnected stories and histories and transmits experiences of resilience, connection, and the transformative power of creativity.

Gigs (graphic novel) – 5pm

“A.I. took the work. Gigs replaced jobs. Ordinary people are left to scrape together lives in a world that’s no longer built for them.” That’s the blurb for GIGS, an upcoming graphic novel drawn by Si Smith and written by Mark Mosedale, but it could describe this Tuesday.
