🎭 Panto season is on the horizon!

Jack and the Beanstalk at the Carriageworks Theatre will include a series of relaxed performances, created to provide a more comfortable theatre experience for audience members with sensory, communication or additional needs.

These relaxed performances include adjustments such as softer sound effects, gentler lighting and the freedom to move around, helping families enjoy the panto in a way that works for them.

Relaxed performance dates:
• Sunday, 29th November, 1pm
• Thursday, 3rd December, 1.30pm
• Monday, 21st December, 2.30pm
• Sunday, 27th December, 1pm

Leeds City Council is asking people with physical and sensory impairments, parent carers, families, support workers and community organisations to share their views on its draft Physical and Sensory Impairment (PSI) Action Plan.

The consultation is open until Saturday, 31st October 2026.

If you care for a child or young person with a physical or sensory impairment, this is an opportunity to share your experiences and help shape future support across Leeds.

Looking for support around emotional wellbeing, parenting or family relationships?

The Leeds 0-19 Public Health Integrated Nursing Service is working in partnership with Togetherness to provide Leeds families with free access to a range of online learning pathways designed to support emotional wellbeing for both children and adults.

Created by NHS clinical psychologists alongside health professionals and parents, the platform offers practical, evidence-based guidance on topics including:

✨ Brain development
✨ Parenting and family relationships
✨ Building resilience for everyday life
✨ SEND and adolescent mental health support

✨ Experience the magic of Light Night Leeds in a quieter, more accessible setting.

Leeds PCF members are invited to a special accessible preview evening on Tuesday, 27th October (6pm to 8pm), before the main Light Night Leeds event.

The programme has been specially designed to include a smaller selection of artworks located close together, making it easier to explore at your own pace.

There will also be a quiet/chill-out space, accessible transport options and a range of accessibility support available throughout the evening.

📣Your experiences are helping to shape the national conversation around EOTAS.

The National Network of Parent Carer Forums (NNPCF) has published its response to the Department for Education's consultation on Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS).

Leeds Parent Carer Forum took part in NNPCF Community of Practice discussions, including two sessions focused on EOTAS. This meant the experiences and perspectives shared by Leeds families could feed into the national response.

A huge thank you to everyone who has shared their experiences with us. By speaking up about what life is really like for children and young people with SEND and their families, you help make sure lived experience is part of conversations about future policy and practice.
