Our charity's Box4Kids initiative focuses on providing VIP experiences for seriously ill and disabled children. We work with clubs, companies and individual businesses across the UK, inviting children from local hospitals to watch their favourite sports team or concert from the comfort of an executive box.

15 years ago, Barrie Wells had an idea that would go on to change the lives of thousands of children and families across the UK ❤️

What started as one donated box has grown into Box4Kids, a nationwide initiative spanning sport, music, entertainment, and unforgettable experiences for families who deserve special moments together.

But what makes Box4Kids so special to Barrie has never changed.

It’s the people.

The incredible volunteers who give up their time to host events.
The generous donors who open up their boxes to families.
And most importantly, the children and families who continue to inspire everyone involved with their strength, courage, and positivity.

Over the past 15 years, Barrie has remained closely involved in the day-to-day running of Box4Kids, personally meeting so many of the families supported through the trust along the way.

Here’s to the memories already made and to the next 15 years of Box4Kids ❤️

Last month, children and families enjoyed a fantastic day at St Helens vs York Knights ❤️🏉

Through the donation of a box from BrewDog, those attending were able to experience an unforgettable day at the rugby together.

These experiences are about so much more than sport — they provide opportunities for children and families to spend quality time together, create lasting memories, and enjoy something truly special.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to BrewDog for donating the box, and to the team at St Helens for all their support in helping make the day such a memorable one.

Partnerships like these are what make Box4Kids possible, helping us continue to create special experiences for deserving children and families across the UK ❤️✨

From one idea to a nationwide initiative ❤️

What started with one donated box has grown into thousands of unforgettable experiences for children and families across the UK, with more than 27,000 guests welcomed to VIP events through Box4Kids.

We’re proud of how far Box4Kids has come, but the mission remains the same, and we're not stopping anytime soon 🙌

We met Sean at our recent Aintree Box4Kids event, and safe to say he absolutely stole the show in his outfit ❤️

Sean previously attended another Box4Kids event hosted by Barrie, where the two instantly got on well, especially when Sean showed Barrie his binoculars and even let him try them on!

It was so lovely seeing Sean again and watching him enjoy another special day out with Box4Kids 🐎

May was a month to remember ✨

From football, rugby, racing, and British Superbikes to concerts, family fun days, and even The Lord of the Rings in Concert, this month has been filled with an incredible variety of experiences for the children and families we support.

That’s what makes Box4Kids so special.

Every child is different, and being able to provide such a wide range of experiences means we can create moments that feel truly personal and meaningful to so many different families.

Whether it was singing along to Louis Tomlinson and Zayn, experiencing the atmosphere of live sport, enjoying a day at the races, or simply spending quality time together as a family, every event created memories that will last far beyond the day itself.

A huge thank you to all of our partners, donors, hosts, and volunteers who continue to help make these experiences possible ❤️

💙 National Diabetes Week 💙

This National Diabetes Week, we want to help raise awareness of Diabetes and share the story of one of the incredible children who has attended our events, Florence.

Florence attended Benson Boone at the Co-op live with us last year where her mum Cath described the evening as "the best day out we have EVER had"

"When Flo got diagnosed, I had never heard of it [Type 1 Diabetes]. She was only 6 and it has changed our lives forever. I constantly grieve a life we should have had and now don’t. Every moment of every day is now a new life that revolves around numbers, calculations, worries, ordering meds, equipment updates, clinics, pump alarms and 24/7 care.

Imagine holding a sand timer forever but you’re not allowed to hold it still, no matter how much your arm aches, but you have to have equal amounts in each side all day and all night or the consequences are catastrophic.

Florence is so, so brave. Every needle, every blood test, every cannula change – every time she needs to trust someone with her life, I am in awe of her.

Thank you so much to the Barrie Wells Trust. I can honestly say they bring joy to us. It has given Flo the confidence to try new things where she feels safe and unjudged." - Cath

Last year, 5% of the children who attended a Box4Kids event have Type 1 Diabetes. We know that a diagnosis affects not only the child, but their whole family.

Stories like Florence's remind us why creating safe, inclusive experiences for seriously ill and disabled children is so important.
