Belle’s new home! 🐴💛
If you missed it yesterday, here is Belle settling into her wonderful new home. You can follow Lindsay for more updates on Belle and her journey, as well as keep up with her work with BTRC. Lindsay is also already enjoying life with Storm, who is currently on loan from us. 🐎🥰

At the weekend we said goodbye to Belle. She’s heading not too far away to the Cumbrian hills to live with Lindsay, who has a herd of Connemara ponies.
Lindsay breeds purebred Connemara's as well as Thoroughbred cross Connemara's. She already has BTRC Storm on loan and was looking for another broodmare to add to her herd, so we’re delighted Belle has found such a lovely new home. As always with any horse leaving the BTRC, Belle had her pre-homing check and her suitability assessed as a broodmare, including reproductive ultrasound scans to ensure she was cycling correctly and that there were no concerns.
We’re really excited for this new chapter for Belle and think it will suit her perfectly. Fingers crossed we might see a baby Belle in the future! 🐴💕

A little break from the usual horsey content to enjoy these young swallows being fed by their mum — a fascinating moment to witness.
It’s always special seeing the journey these birds make each year, and their return is a sure sign that summer has truly arrived, especially when the chicks are growing up right here on the farm.

We couldn't not share these beautiful photos sent to us by Brie's loaner, Linda, from a recent day camp they attended together.

Brie went out on loan to Linda at the beginning of 2025 as a four-year-old. After coming straight off the track to the BTRC, her racing owner made the commitment to secure her future by funding her retraining with us, ensuring she had the time, education and support needed to successfully transition into life beyond racing. This investment gave Brie the best possible foundation for her second career and allowed us to carefully prepare her for her next home. 🏠
Linda was the perfect person to continue Brie's education, having previously taken on BTRC Ice eight years ago and enjoyed many successful years together. Her experience, patience and understanding have allowed Brie to continue developing at her own pace, building confidence and gaining valuable life experiences along the way.💪🥰
It's been wonderful to watch Brie mature over the last year. She has grown into a lovely young horse and looks absolutely fantastic—we're sure you'll all agree! Seeing her so happy and thriving in her loan home is exactly what retraining is all about.🙌
Linda is enjoying every step of the journey with Brie and taking the time to let her develop into the horse she is destined to become. We can't wait to see what the future holds for this special partnership and look forward to following their adventures together. ❤️🐴✨
