We do need to say a huge thank you to Quinn Civils (who have supported The Toy Appeal back since the very beginning in 2013) and Dawson Rentals in Trafford Park. They are providing vans and man power to collect the teenager sacks from our teenage HQ and deliver over to Elf Headquarters, free of charge. They have already moved 50 tonne size sacks containing a total of 500 red gift sacks for the teenagers.

We are truly grateful to both businesses for their generosity and support. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

We need to do a very big shout out to the wonderful Pete & Mags Wood 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. We have very gratefully received a pack of socks for every teenager as well as some water bottles and wallets. 💔 Sometimes, it’s not the rejection that hurts the most, it’s everything that goes into trying.

As a small charity providing toys for children at Christmas, funding is crucial and placing bids for grants is a necessity. However the reality is that funding is limited and that most grant applications are unsuccessful. The process can be incredibly frustrating, with complicated forms, hours of work and very little feedback when you’re turned down.

Our latest feedback explained we were unsuccessful as the total value of bids received exceeded the available funding by 133%. We understand - there simply isn’t enough money to go around, but with less funding and more charities needing support, the future feels uncertain.

What hurts most is the impact these failed bids have. I have already turned down requests this week and it’s genuinely broken my heart.

But...we have to keep trying - because every child deserves a little magic at Christmas 🎄

It's that time of year when our incredible team in charge of the Teenagers The Toy Appeal swing into action. They have been making up some amazing gifts and sacks for all our teenagers which have been referred to us by our schools, social workers, refuges and foodbanks. Teenagers are often forgotten - when people think of Toy Appeals. They often think of younger children at Christmas, not realising older children in their teens need support too. It's one reason why monetary donations are so important - it enables us to supply gifts to children of all ages.

Our teenage team work so hard to source age appropriate gifts, putting together packages for Christmas with love and care. We will hear more from them over the coming weeks but for now, lets give them a round of applause for all their hard work and the generous donation of their time!

We are thrilled and need to say a very special thank you to Character World Brands for their fantastic donation of gorgeous blankets, fleeces, hoodies and air beds towards our 2026 Toy Appeal. We know that the children who will benefit from this very generous donation will LOVE seeing these in their toy sacks on Christmas Day!

Week 1 Complete! We are back after our summer break and want to say a big thank you to Lee Tyson. He has set himself a challenge to run every day for the remaining 100 Days of 2026 - minimum of 5km a day. Thats an amazing 500 miles/800km total distance!

Lee says "I am supporting TheToyAppeal in their quest to provide Christmas presents for children in underprivileged positions! Without their help these kids may not have a present to open on Christmas Day and every child deserves that! 🎁

If you can support in any way, through a donation, a share it would greatly appreciated to aid a great cause! Its something I feel strongly about so I will personally be donating 50p for every KM I cover over the 100 days.

We need your pre loved teddies! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far - your support is appreciated. Apex Self Storage - Cheadle have kindly agreed to continue to be a drop off point until September for any preloved and new teddies you may wish to donate to The Toy Appeal . We also need to thank Gemma Johnstone who has kindly collected and delivered teddies from Knutsford to Apex - thank you! Also, the wonderful Helen Neale who sorts, mends and washes thousands of pre loved toys every year. Thank you both so much for all you do to ensure a child has something to love at Christmas!

Last week we were joined by a fabulous team from Contollo Group who spent a very hot day in the Elves House creating Christmas sacks for ages 11 & 12. Christmas in July is hard!

We really enjoyed having them volunteer with us and would like to say a special thank you to all who attended and also to Ben Moser for organising this very enjoyable corporate volunteer day.
