A word from Mr Preses.
Recently Myself and some of the other committee members from Kilbarchan General Society went on a visit to Action For Children Centre which is located in Loom Walk in the village of Kilbarchan.
This Centre is in-fact built on what once was the Red Blaze of my old Primary school Playground.
I now currently live a Stone’s throw away from this Place but to be honest was unaware of exactly what to expect.
To say now I am totally in awe after this visit is an understatement.
The amount of work the staff and parents put in is incredible. I also noticed you can visibly see and hear the passion from the staff that they Loved their Job.
We also met a few of the kids who all seem very happy with the respite centre.
We were shown some of the various rooms within the building and saw ways in which the children’s needs are being met e.g A sensory room and Equipped Bedrooms.
It was also a privilege to be shown some of the kids art work and being able to engage with the kids about their drawings and paintings.
Getting a High five made my day.
So for anyone considering doing any kind of local charity work, spare a thought for them, or if anyone knows of any grants etc.
Let’s keep this place running at its full potential for the kids/ families currently using it and for future kids cause you never know what the future holds or If or when your family or friends may need it themselves.
