How are we already in June?!

May was full of opportunities, new experiences and moments that made us incredibly proud of our learners.

Here are just a few of the things that made us smile this month. 💙

Our Lutterworth learners recently had an incredible time taking part in the PowerHouseGames at Leicester Tigers Stadium! 🏉

The day brought together schools, colleges and organisations from across the region to celebrate inclusive sport, teamwork and community spirit through a range of activities including rugby, football, cricket, basketball, goalball and seated volleyball.

For our learners, the experience was about so much more than sport. It was an opportunity to build confidence, try new things, work together and step outside comfort zones in a supportive and encouraging environment.

We are so proud of the positivity, enthusiasm and teamwork shown throughout the day — and most importantly, everyone had an amazing time. 💙

A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising such an inspiring event and creating opportunities for young people to feel included, empowered and celebrated.

💙This week is Mental Health Awareness Week💙

This year’s theme is “Action” — reminding us that supporting mental health is not just about awareness, but about the small, meaningful actions we take every day to support ourselves and each other.

This week (and every week), we encourage everyone to take a moment to:

💙 Check in with someone
💙 Prioritise your wellbeing
💙 Ask for support if you need it
💙 Show kindness — to yourself and others

Mental health matters, and no one should feel like they have to struggle alone.

If you or someone you know needs support, speak up and seek help:

💙Samaritans - Call 116 123 (free, 24/7)
💙CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) - Call 0800 585858 (5pm-midnight) or use their webchat
💙Shout - Text 85258 for free, confidential 24/7 text support
💙If you are in immediate danger, please call 999

A huge thank you to Iron Mountain for delivering such an engaging and informative day of workshops for our learners at our Lutterworth campus. 💙

Throughout the day, learners took part in sessions covering Phishing and Scams, the Use of AI, Interview Skills, CV Writing, Career Planning, and a fantastic Marketing Challenge. Each session provided valuable, real-world insight to support their journey into employment.

It was incredible to see the energy, enthusiasm and engagement from our learners, who embraced every opportunity to develop their knowledge, confidence and employability skills.

A special thank you to Nicola Brassington and the wider team for organising and delivering such a meaningful and impactful programme. We truly appreciate the time, expertise and care that went into making the day such a success.

Partnerships like this play a vital role in preparing our learners for the world of work, and we are proud to work alongside organisations who share our commitment to creating inclusive, meaningful futures.

At Creating Tomorrow College, we believe education should be about more than qualifications — it should build confidence, connection and real-world skills.

Our recent celebrations were a fantastic example of this in action, bringing together learners, staff and supporters to recognise creativity, kindness and achievement.

We were thrilled to see one of our learners win the Kettering Rovers Football Kit Design Competition, with their design chosen to become a real football kit. ⚽️👏 To mark the achievement, they were presented with a shirt by representatives from Kettering Rovers Football Club and Iron Mountain.

We were also proud to celebrate another learner who received an award for going above and beyond at our Macmillan Coffee Morning. 🧁💙 Her incredible baking efforts helped make the event a huge success, showing dedication, generosity and a wonderful willingness to support others.

We are incredibly proud of our learners demonstrating the confidence and employability skills that will support them far beyond college, and grateful to everyone who continues to support our mission. 💙

Our learners had a fantastic time attending Future:Fest 2026, organised by SEND IASS North Northants at the Corby Cube last week!

Learners enjoyed engaging talks and workshops from Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service, Hair & Beauty, First Aid, VR and trade-based activities, while also meeting organisations, businesses, and community groups, helping them become more familiar with the opportunities available in their local area now and in the future.

Some of our learners even ended up riding in the back of the police van (don’t worry… no crimes were committed! 🚓😂), while others enjoyed trying something new with nail art and beauty activities 💅

It was a valuable and exciting visit building confidence, discovering new opportunities and enjoying experiences that complement learning at college.
