At ExtraCare , we truly believe that people should be able to age with dignity, joy and the freedom to be themselves.
That's why , for the 3rd year running a group of staff and residents headed to Birmingham, to represent The ExtraCare Charitable Trust in the Birmingham Pride parade yesterday.

We had a truly wonderful day. The hard work and preparations were worth it 🏳️‍🌈

With over a million people in the UK currently living with dementia - this week we are really focused on raising awareness. On Wednesday residents enjoyed a brilliant information session with Rene and then in the afternoon we were joined by Tracey, a representative from singing for the brain.. Residents really enjoyed the day, and most importantly, were engaging in conversation and asking questions that they have around dementia .

Today has been so wholesome. 💚

As this has been mental health awareness week, we took time out to really care for ourselves.

We were completely blessed to be joined by Harshani and Edwin from Mind & Body Wellbeing for a seated yoga session and a sound bath.
It was a beautiful experience, and for many residents - the sound bath was unlike anything most have experienced before.
The day comes to a close with us feeling grounded, peaceful and relaxed - yet re energised and focused.
Thank you to everyone that was involved in making the day what it was.

Yesterday we celebrated VE day with a beautiful afternoon tea , followed by an evening of wonderful entertainment, with the very fabulous Dean Jones. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
As always , we laughed , sang and danced our socks off in true Sunley style.

We shall remember, We shall teach the next generation to remember and we shall always be truly thankful for all those who have bravely served for our country. ❤️
