๐ŸŽ‰ Itโ€™s a Bank Holiday weekend!
And apparently, the next one is Christmas! ๐Ÿ˜ณ Scary how quickly the months are flying by โ€” but letโ€™s not worry about that just yet! ๐Ÿ˜‚
Instead, weโ€™re looking ahead to one of our favourite times of the yearโ€ฆ Harvest Festival season! ๐ŸŒพ๐ŸŽ
Our shelves are definitely Harvest-ready.
Soup. Baked beans. Pasta.
These are our staples โ€” the things we can normally rely on having plenty of โ€” but right now, theyโ€™re looking very low.
Harvest Festival collections usually make a huge difference to our shelves, so weโ€™re hoping this year will be no different. ๐Ÿคž
Thanks this week to those who dropped in with donations, St Andrew's Church, Kettering, Paul, St Mary Magdalene Church Geddington, D.S. Smith Burton Latimer, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Krishna, Sue &๏ฟผ Carol, Keshani, Christina, Becky, Rita, Mr Marshall, Ian, Fuller Baptist Church, Don & Jenny, Megan and Jackie.

So, as the schools and churches start thinking about their Harvest Festival collections, please remember your local foodbank.๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š

As we head towards the end of the school holidays, weโ€™ve certainly been kept on our toes this week!
For two days in particular, the sheer number of food parcel requests from families kept us very busy. We survived! ๐Ÿ˜… And, thanks to all those who donate, we were able to maintain both the size and quality of our food parcels. We came very close to running short of several essential items, but thankfully, we didnโ€™t.
Lots of thank yous this week!
A very special thank you to two of our volunteers โ€” our very own โ€œIโ€™ll be in the shedโ€ Ken โ€” and to the wonderful residents Lawrence Close who held a back to the 80โ€™s street party, raising donations for Kettering Foodbank. ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ•บ
And to Frances, another of our longstanding volunteers, who bought in the proceeds of her jam sale ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“
This is so typical of our volunteers โ€” quietly doing things in the background, always keeping Kettering Foodbank in mind.๐Ÿ’š
Thank you Frances , thank you Ken, and to everyone involved.
And, another thank you to the anonymous employee of TK Maxx whose recommendation resulted in a lovely cheque from head office landing in our account. What a wonderful surprise!
To those who bought in donations .. Richard, Mr Middleton, Sylvia, Ian, Mr Dunn, Mr Marshall, Martin, Rod, Pollard Church, Fuller Baptist Church. THANK YOU .
We canโ€™t say it enough . Thank you, as always, to everyone who helps keep our shelves stocked and allows us to support local families when they need us most. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ™ ANOTHER APPEAL ๐Ÿ™

Whilst our priority will always be providing food for the table, we also know how important those everyday essentials can be.

We provide toiletries to those who need them, and our supplies are running very low.

If you are able to help, we would be especially grateful for donations of:

๐Ÿงป Toilet rolls
๐Ÿงด Shampoo
๐Ÿ’œ Hair conditioner

We are very VERY low on carrier bags right now โ€ฆ could you help??

A huge thank you to Pets at Home Kettering for inviting us to their Blue Cross Event this week! Some of our volunteers Matthew, Tor, Gail & Jane โ€”along with the very cute pups Betsy and Wilf ๐Ÿถโ€”had a great time chatting with everyone. We were blown away by the interest and generosity! Thanks to your amazing support, our "pet shelves" are looking so much healthier! โœจ

Julyโ€™s figures are now in, and thanks to your support we were able to help 247 adults and 176 children with food parcels during the month.
Thatโ€™s a slight increase on July last year, even though the warmer weather often means a small reduction in household energy costs for those using pre-payment gas and electricity meters.

As always, weโ€™d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donates, volunteers, fundraises and supports Kettering Foodbank. Every tin, packet and donation really does make a difference.

A special mention this week also goes to Barbara, Liam, Fuller Baptist Church, Richard,Kettering Allotment Society, Sheila, Kettering Central Methodist Church, Jackie, Mr Marshall, Shade, St Andrew's Church, Kettering, Paul and Matthew.

๐Ÿ’šTogether, youโ€™re making a real difference in our community. Thank you ๐Ÿ’š

Hello August! ๐ŸŒž
What a lovely way to welcome a new month!
Weโ€™re seeing more and more fresh fruit and vegetables arriving as our local allotments begin their summer bonanza. This week weโ€™ve received early blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, apples, tomatoes and courgettes โ€“ absolutely wonderful! ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿฅ’ Thereโ€™s nothing quite like fresh, homegrown produce, and weโ€™re delighted to be able to pass it on to the people who need our support.
We also had a call from West Lodge Nursery to let us know their donation crate was fullโ€ฆ again! ๐ŸŽ‰
Unfortunately, we didnโ€™t manage to get a photo with the children as they were all outside making the most of the sunshine โ˜€๏ธ, but we did persuade two lovely members of staff to pose for us instead!
A huge thank you to everyone at West Lodge Day Nursery and Pre School along with all the parents who continue to support us so generously.

Also we need to thank Pat, Aunty Ches, St Andrew's Church, Kettering, Emily, Mr Marshall and his little helpers Kaitlyn, Evie and Bethany, Rosemary, Don and Kettering Central Methodist Church, Janet, Ros and Tony, Ann and Dennis, Kettering Allotment Society, Ian, Fuller Baptist Church, Richard, Isebrook School,

๐Ÿ’šYour kindness really does make a difference to so many local people. ๐Ÿ’š

Now that the schools have broken up and the summer holidays have officially begun, we know this can be a particularly difficult time for some families. With children at home, food bills and other everyday costs can quickly add up.
Your continued support makes a real difference and helps us be there for those who need us most. Thank you to everyone who donates and supports Kettering Foodbank โ€“ we couldnโ€™t do it without you. ๐Ÿ’š
This weeksโ€™ mentions are Ian, Jenny, Southfields Girls School, Ann, DS Smith, Isebrook School, Rod, Louisa ๐Ÿ‘ and her Redrowers, Rita, Daphne, Pat, Kettering Allotment Society, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Kettering Central Methodist Church, Don, Parag and Bethany & Kaitlyn .
