What impact does a £30 gift have? Does the ammount you spend really matter?!

Can we let each other off the hook, reduce the pressure a bit (financial and mental!)?!

Gift guidance is a great way to do this...

Pop a note on the invite to give some guidance about gifts.

It might be to put a £2 or a fiver in a card for your child to save up for something.

It might be to say pre-loved gufts welcomed.

You might say no gifts or keep it small because we live in a tiny flat.

But remember, if you go round giving extravagant gifts and then DON'T give gift guidance...others might feel like they have to live up to this financial bar (and they may not be able to afford it).

Is this controversial?

What do you think?

This was triggered by a segment on today, after talked about the pressure of parties (9 in a fortnight 😱)

Let's be loud and proud about giving pre-loved presents, if we sre going to normalise it.

Do you agree?

A mum messaged a while ago, asked if we had anything she could put on a card or a gift to show that it is second hand...

So we made these!

The idea is to pop them on a pre-loved gift, or in the card, just to let the recipient know.

We shouldn't feel awkward or embarrassed, we should be proud that we are gifting consciously. And if you put this sticker on a gift, you are quietly giving others the confidence to follow suit.

These will be available to purchase at some point over the summer, before the new school year (probably just in the UK to begin with).

Would you put a proudly preloved sticker on a gift you give?

Parenting in the heat is stressful. 🥵

Don't get me wrong, I'm loving a bit of sunshine as much as the next person.

But this weather also stresses me out...

Not just because of the sunscreen dramas, the sun-induced meltdowns and the 30-degree bedtimes.

Because right now is the LEAST extreme the climate will be in our lifetimes.

Let that sink in.

Unless our leaders take this really really really f**king seriously right now, our grandkids could be facing 40 degree bedtimes. That is mental.

We can't just sit around hoping someone will fix this while we keep our heads buried in the sand.

Hope is passive.

We need to act.

Acting doesn't have to be radical. You don't have to chain yourself to a lamp post (that's not for me either).

It could start with an email to your MP - telling them you're concerned and want to see more action taken.

What action will you take?

There's no publisher behind this book. No automatic route into bookshops. No PR budget.

Just me (Charlotte, founder of No Crap Parties), a bucket load of belief, and the knowledge that a story like Elf Chloe's Surprise can only reach the families it's meant for with a little help from the right people.

The book gives parents, carers and educators a way into conversations with children about reducing waste, buying less, and choosing more conscious gifts. It's beautifully illustrated, rhyming, and genuinely useful — and we want it in as many hands as possible.

Not thaat kind of catty...😹

This joint 7th birthday party, held in a village hall with a bouncy castle and 16 friends, is a great example of how you can make party favours more sustainable – and still great fun for the kids.

Instead of plastic-filled party bags, the parents sourced preloved Beanie Boo cats from Vinted.

During the party, the children decorated the boxes and made beaded collars from pipe cleaners as a fun craft activity.

They took these home, along with a paper bag of sweets and a slice of cake.

Other no-crap party wins:

📌 Pin the nose on the cat (homemade)
♻️ Reusable plates and cups
🎁 Encouraged small or preloved gifts on the invite

The verdict from the birthday girls? Loved it.

This is what a no crap party can look like – creative, affordable, and genuinely more fun than a bag of plastic tat.

It's not about the perfect zero-waste party. It's not about saying no to gifts and party bags completely – it's about making conscious decisions to reduce the waste and avoid excess, short lived plastics (and being kinder on people's finances!).

The world would be a much better place.

What a wonderful inspiration this human is 💚🌎😍

Wishing Sir David Attenborough the happiest 100th birthday.

All aboard the classic community hall party train!

First prize for cakes goes to this mum - genius!

We went to this party and can confirm it was great fun! There's plenty of no crap inspiration you can take (easily adapted to different themes)!

Here's what they did:

🚂 lots of train related toys to play freely with, which the parents brought from home

🚂 colouring sheets printed and some train related cut and stick activities

🚂 train themes beanbag toss (saved from their party last year)

🚂 pin the train on the track game

🚂 epic train tunnel cake (worth swiping for!) And cupcakes with mini toy trains on top (second hand)

💝 toy swap instead of gifts and party bag, plus a slice of cake

🍕 pizza, sausage rolls, crisps and fruit to eat - served using a borrowed party kit (ours!)

The mum went to lots of effort getting crafty with some extras, which all looked great and were fun. But honestly...the kids just loved running around with their friends!

Parties don't have to be full of balloon arches, expensive entertainment and presents for kids to have fun.

33 countries. 47 English counties. Every single major UK city.

🥳🥹🤯

The Kids Party Pact is everywhere, thanks to YOU.

But we are far from done...party bags of plastic tat are STILL being handed out every weekend. Parents are still feeling anxious and overwhelmed by the cost and clutter of gifts.
Children are being raised to think that joy comes from stuff (even subconsciously).

To truly change the culture – we need to all be brave and share this more widely, and get more parents to sign and see that more affordable, less wasteful gifting is a positive move – for parents, the planet and out children.

If you haven't signed yet, now's the time.

And if you have — have you shared it? One share plants a seed in someone else's community.

❌ And if you know anyone in Huddersfield, Preston, Sunderland and Wigan give them a nudge...they are the ONLY big English towns where no parents have yet signed (according to our data – which does have some holes)!

Comment PACT for the link to sign & share.
