💙🤝 BHCA Attends ‘A Place to Belong’ Event in Keighley!

Bradford Hate Crime Alliance (BHCA) was delighted to attend today’s Keighley & Ilkley: A Place to Belong event at The Good Shepherd Centre in Keighley.

The event, organised by Bradford Council, brought together community organisations, local partners and individuals to explore how we can build healthier, more connected and inclusive communities where everyone feels they belong.

It was a fantastic opportunity to share experiences, make new connections and contribute to conversations about community cohesion, inclusion, respect and belonging.

💙 At BHCA, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, accepted, respected and valued, regardless of their background or identity.

Tackling hate crime, challenging prejudice and encouraging people to report incidents are important parts of creating communities where everyone feels welcome.

👏 A huge thank you to Bradford Council and the Keighley & Ilkley Area Coordinator’s team for organising today’s event and bringing people together for such meaningful discussions.

We look forward to continuing to work with local organisations and partners to strengthen community relationships and help make Keighley, Ilkley and the wider Bradford District safer, more welcoming places for everyone.

💙 Together, we can build communities where everyone belongs!

Speak Up. Speak Out. Report Hate Crime.

A Wonderful Day at The Good Shepherd Centre!

We were delighted to host the Place to Belong event, bringing people together from across Keighley and Ilkley to share ideas, celebrate what's happening in our communities and explore how we can create a stronger sense of belonging for everyone.

A special thank you to Hannah for organising and running the event, and to Mahmood from Bradford Council's Stronger Communities team and Jonathan Hays for this initiative.

A huge thank you to our amazing staff and volunteers for preparing the hall, food and giving everyone a warm welco
Our hall is also available for hire!
Perfect for conferences, meetings, training and community events, now with a brand-new projector and screen!

We have a 3-seater sofa, two matching armchairs and a footstool available for free at The Good Shepherd Centre.

They're all part of the same set and in good condition.

If anyone knows a family who could make use of them, please let us know. We'd really like them to go to someone who needs them.

Due to some small renovation works at the Centre, we need to find them a new home as soon as possible.

Please get in touch if you're interested or know someone who might be. Feel free to share this post too. Thank you!
