You receive a text message that appears to be from the DWP, saying you're entitled to an Energy Allowance of between £200 and £300 and must apply now to avoid missing out. This is a phishing scam in which the scammer attempts to get your personal information. You do not need to apply for the winter fuel payment, the DWP know who is eligible and you will receive payment automatically.

Many individuals who provide care for a loved one or friend may not realize they are carers. Shirley and Mick emphasize the importance of recognizing carers and explain the benefits of registering as a carer, along with the support that may be available.
