Can you help?

We are dependant on volunteers at our exercise classes, to allow them to run safely and effectively. You would be making a real difference to not only our participants lives but your own. Our volunteers at Roar give wonderful feedback on how helping out in the community has positively impacted their lives too.

We all need a little help from time to time, if you can spare an hour and a half a week to provide that to a local community member in need then please get in touch with us.

It’s hard to believe Cassie has officially retired from Roar ❤️ At the end of last month we said farewell to our CEO Cassie.

For the last five years, Cassie has been such a huge part of Roar and has left a mark on so many people along the way. Her care for our participants, our staff and the wider community has always been at the heart of everything she does.

She has a way of making people feel seen and making them feel like they matter, and that’s something we’ll really miss.

Thank you for everything, Cassie. We’re so grateful for everything you’ve given to Roar and to all of us.

Now go and enjoy that retirement, Tenerife and a well earned bit of time for yourself! ❤️

Today the 1st of October, is International Day of Older People, and this year's theme is a simple question: what's on your doorstep?

Where we live has a big say in how we age. Being able to get to the GP or pop along to a local group can make a real difference to staying well and keeping in touch with people.

But it isn't the same for everyone. If you don't drive, or the pavements on your street aren't safe to walk on, your world can get a lot smaller. For some people getting past the front door isn't possible at all. That's when the support needs to come to them instead, whether that's a mobile library or a video call with family.

Older people give so much to their communities, whether that's volunteering or looking after someone they love. Today we want to celebrate that and keep chipping away at the things that make it harder to get out and about.
