๐Ÿš— Are you aged 60 or over and still driving?

The Scottish Government's Fitness to Drive Roadshow is visiting Paisley and Erskine this week, offering free information and advice to help older drivers stay safe, confident and independent on the road.

As we get older, things like our eyesight, reaction times and even some medications can affect our driving. The roadshow gives you the chance to speak to friendly experts, ask questions and find out about simple steps you can take to keep driving safely for longer.

There are no driving tests or assessments โ€“ just helpful advice in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

If you're nearby, why not pop along?

Weโ€™re delighted to share that Roar Connections For Life has received a National Lottery Awards for All Scotland grant.

Weโ€™re incredibly grateful to the National Lottery and to everyone who plays, as this funding will support our groups across Renfrewshire.

The funding will help us bring the Commonwealth Games theme into our groups, giving members the opportunity to explore different cultures, share stories, try new activities and learn more about the countries and communities that make up the Commonwealth.

With Glasgow hosting the Commonwealth Games in 2026, this is a great opportunity to bring people together through conversation, creativity and connection.

Thank you to the National Lottery for supporting this work and helping us continue to create opportunities for older adults to stay connected and involved in their communities.

We are still in desperate need of befrienders. We have a waiting list of lonely older adults looking to welcome a volunteer into their homes for one hour a week for a cuppa and a chat. Please share this far and wide in the hope we can reach anyone who may be able to help us ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™
