⚠️ SCAM WARNING – BOGUS ENERGY REPRESENTATIVES ⚠️

We've been made aware of reports of individuals visiting homes in the Paisley area, claiming to represent energy companies and offering replacement prepayment meter keys.

In one reported incident, a caller claimed that a new meter key would remove standing charges from the household's energy costs.

Please be cautious of anyone arriving at your door unexpectedly offering to change your meter key, reduce your bills or remove standing charges.

🔹 Don't feel pressured to let anyone into your home or agree to changes to your energy supply.

🔹 Always verify identification. If someone claims to work for your energy supplier, contact the company directly using a trusted telephone number.

🔹 Never share personal or financial information with an unexpected caller.

🔹 Don't accept or use an unfamiliar meter key without first checking with your energy supplier.

🔹 Report suspicious doorstep activity to Police Scotland on 101, or 999 if you feel threatened or in immediate danger.

Please share this information, particularly with friends, family or neighbours who may be vulnerable to doorstep scams.

Renfrewshire Citizens Advice Bureau is looking for an experienced Senior Housing Adviser to join our team.

The role will involve providing specialist housing advice, casework and representation to clients, including people facing complex circumstances, as well as providing second-tier support to advisers across the Bureau.

📍 Renfrewshire
⏰ 35 hours per week
💷 £33,816.40 + 8% employer pension contribution
📅 Funded until the 1st of November 2027, with extension subject to continued funding
