Meet Jess from the House Collective at Gainsborough's House

We’ve joined forces for the Festival of Nature where House Collective will be hosting three brilliant workshops and an exhibition. These events are not to be missed!

Discuss the importance of our relationship with our food and wild places whilst sampling local produce and foraged finds, try your hand at screenprintjng and see the magic of a camera obscura up close in nature - all for free!

Wilder Communities spotlight 🌟As our 3rd Wild Tots at Grove Court Care Home project comes to an end this Summer, we're celebrating the wonderful friendships and memories created between the under-5s and the care home residents.

Together they explored the natural world, learning about minibeasts, plants and birds, making bird feeders, and recording their discoveries in nature journals. It has been a brilliant example of the powerful impact nature has to bring us together, spark curiosity and bring about joy!

Thank you to the Grove and everyone involved for making this project such a success.

Our wardens have been ringing wryneck birds as they pass through Suffolk on their migration between breeding grounds in Europe and wintering grounds in Africa 🪶

Wrynecks have a threat display in which they extend their neck and wave their head around in a snake-like movement 🐍

The wryneck is an unusual member of the woodpecker family. They act more like a warbler, perching on branches rather than climbing up tree trunks. They also have a smaller and weaker beak than most woodpeckers, so they nest in existing cavities instead of chiselling out their own.

Great to see Environment Secretary, Angela Eagle, recognising the benefits of restoring nature for preventing wildfires and improving climate resilience.

An important rebuttal of unsupported claims ‘rewilding’ is to blame for wildfires, like those at Dunwich Heath this summer.

Nature needs us, and we need nature.

Reform and the Conservatives are willing to mislead the public, but as environment secretary, I believe we must be honest – and act boldly, says Angela Eagle

The Lowestoft Kittiwake Partnership offers talks, presentations, creative activities and informative guided tours of Lowestoft’s kittiwake population. Sessions are tailored to a range of audiences, including wildlife specialists, community organisations and young people.
