LONG TERM DOGS NEED LOVE TOO! COULD YOU OFFER AN EXPERIENCED HOME TO A SPECIAL DOG?
Are you an extra special person looking for an extra special dog? We are casting the net far and wide to find homes for our longer term dogs!
Some of our dogs end up spending years in kennels due to the sort of homes they need. Most of them just need someone willing to see past their history and see them and accept them for the dogs they are today!
Please meet Wally, Alice, Draco, Zeke, Mojo, Leo and Reggie. They are all in need of very specific homes.
Could you offer any of them a lifeline?
WALLY
Time in kennels: 5 years
Age: 6 years
Breed: Lurcher
Needs a: Pet free, child free home but could have dog friends!
Wally is a super boy. He is 6 years old, very clever and full of life. He is fast to learn and loves to go for long walks, run around an enclosed field and sunbathe when the weather allows it!
He is looking for a home with someone who understands he need boundaries, time and a lot of patience to reintroduce him to a life outside kennels.
He doesn’t like being grabbed or pulled around and has bitten when this has happened however he has very clear body language. Wally hasn't bitten in years. He walks in a muzzle as he can get overwhelmed but loves his walks.
He is a smashing boy, he just needs love.
ALICE:
Time in kennels: 1.5 years
Age: 4 years
Breed: Standard American Bulldog
Needs a: Pet free, child free home.
Alice is a sun worshipping hippo. She came to us a stray and has been waiting for her perfect home. Alice is all smiles and enthusiasm. She loves people and absolutely loves her walks. She enjoys her off lead time in the private field and is happiest laying in the sun.
Alice is dog reactive and wears a muzzle on walks. She can get mouthy when playing and whilst she doesn’t mean to she will on occasion grab clothes during play.
Alice is a ball of love and desperately needs a home.
DRACO:
Time in kennels: 3 years
Age: 5 years
Breed: Mastiff cross
Needs a: child free, cat free, quiet home
Draco is a loveable oaf. He loves to play and boucne around; he is a giant puppy at heart! He knows his basic commands and walks very nicely for a big boy!
Draco could live with female dogs lab size and up. He is a very suspicious boy who is worried by new people. He needs a home with someone who doesn’t have a lot of visitors and can manage his need to protect his terriroty and his people, because once he trusts you he is yours for life!
ZEKE
Time in kennels: 2 years
Age: 3 years
Breed: Cross breed
Needs a: pet free, child free home.
Zeke has been passed from pillar to post. He is an insecure boy who gets overwhelmed easily.
He is a bright playful lad who loves walks, loves to swim and learns very quickly. He gets overexcited at times and can become mouthy but soon stops and calms when told.
He does guard his food and needs a safe space to eat. He can get worried by traffic and would prefer a more rural home.
MOJO
Time in kennels: 1.5 years
Age: 7 years
Breed: Spaniel
Needs a: child free, pet free home.
Mojo is a smashing Spaniel. He is very affectionate on his terms and very playful. He loves his walks and loves his off lead time in the enclosed field. Mojo can be a real charmer and has a wicked personality.
Mojo does have a bite history. His triggers are very clear and easily managed once you know him. He needs time to build trust but also needs an owner who will respect his boundaries and not push him. He can be a joy to live with if he is respected.
LEO
Time in kennels: 1.8 years
Age: 3 years
Breed: Collie x Shepherd
Needs a: pet free, child free home. Ideally a single Male person home. Can have dog friends
Leo is a superb dog. Full of energy, life, love and just brightens any room. He loves to run and be free. He needs something to keep his brain busy.
Leo has lived a very sheltered life having spent most of his life being locked in a kitchen. He needs a slow introduction to the home. He becomes very nippy when overexcited and needs a firm owner who is experienced with hyperactive, undersocialised dogs.
He is the most loving dog, who is loyal and such fun, he just needs someone to show him what being a dog is.
REGGIE
Time in kennels: 1.5 years
Age: 4 years
Breed: French Bulldog
Needs a: pet free, child free, single person household.
Reggie has had an awful life, full of fear and torment. This has lead to him being a bit unpredictable at times.
Reggie bonds deeply and needs a single person to bond with. Once your his person he will follow you to the end of the earth and back. He enjoys being outside, has fab recall, is very cuddly (when he trusts you) and is super smart.
Reggie has a bite history and can be a bit unpredictable but most of his issues are around overhandling and going to the vets!
