Next weekend, the village will come together for the annual Scarecrow Festival. Itโ€™s something we look forward to, families out walking, kids pointing and laughing, but this year, itโ€™s different.

Weโ€™ve lost two local lads last weekend in Ricky Hatton and Rick Thornton and Itโ€™s hit hard on the local community. Thereโ€™s shock and sadness, Gee Cross is grieving.

If youโ€™re struggling, especially the men, please donโ€™t bottle it up. A walk can help. Fresh air, a bit of movement, seeing what people have createdโ€ฆ it can lift you more than you think. You donโ€™t have to talk. Just walk. Be part of something.

Gee Cross is a village that looks out for its own. Letโ€™s keep doing that.
