🌊 3rd Wednesday Outing – Hollingworth Lake
📅 Wednesday 17th June 2026 – 11:30am

This month we’re heading to the beautiful Hollingworth Lake for a relaxed day out together.
We’ll meet at 11:30am in the Hollingworth Lake Country Park Car Park, right next to Woodlands Café (beside the RSPCA Centre).

There’s plenty to enjoy on the day:

Explore the sensory garden next to the café
Take a gentle walk around the lake (45 mins to 1.5 hours depending on pace)
Or stroll 20 minutes to the far side for cafés, fish & chips, an Italian restaurant and ice cream by the watersports centre

Parking is available on site, with free parking for Blue Badge holders.

We’ve got a busy month ahead — with a couple of important date changes to note before we dive in:

🔄 Communication Café has moved because of the May Day Bank Holiday
🔄 Michelle’s Chair‑Based Yoga has been brought forward by a week due to holidays

This session has moved forward by one week. A gentle, accessible session for all abilities.

We’ll be hosting a Headway plant sale stand and sharing more about the work we do across Calderdale and Kirklees. A lovely community day with music, refreshments and friendly faces.

**Wednesday 15th April 2026 – Meet at 1pm**

We’re looking forward to this month’s outing as we head to the fascinating **Bagshaw Museum** in Batley — a beautiful Gothic Revival house set in the grounds of Wilton Park.

We welcome **brain injury survivors from across Calderdale and Kirklees**, along with **their families and carers**, to join us for an afternoon of history, culture and great company.

🗣️ **Next Headway Huddersfield & District Members Event**

We’re delighted to share that our next members event will take place on **Monday 13th April at 10:30am**, by kind invitation of ** Speech Therapy LTD**, who are hosting their regular session of their **Communications Café** .

(The café usually runs on the first Monday of the month, but has been moved this time due to the Easter Monday Bank Holiday.)

This friendly, supportive session is open to:
✔️ Our members
✔️ New members
✔️ Anyone living with a brain injury who would like to join us

Rose Speech Therapy describe the café as a place where:

“People will be able to practice their communication in a safe and supportive place and meet others who are having communication difficulties.”

People attending may have unclear speech, difficulty forming words, or challenges finding the right words — and that’s exactly what this space is designed for. It’s relaxed, welcoming and completely pressure‑free.
