🎉Wow what a week we’ve had this Volunteers’ Week!

This week, we’ve celebrating the incredible people who give their time, skills and compassion to support communities across Hertfordshire, the organisations they support and the work they do and seen how easy it is to get started.

From mentoring young people and supporting wellbeing, to helping at community events and providing vital services, volunteers make a difference every single day.

đź’™ Thank you to every volunteer who helps create stronger, safer and more connected communities.

If you’ve ever thought about volunteering, now is the perfect time to get involved, meet inspiring organisations and discover the impact you could make.

What a way to celebrate Volunteer’s Week!
We’ve had the best day at Hertfordshire Volunteer Fair and hope all that have joined us have too.

Thank you to all who have made today great for the PA, our colleagues and wider team for all of your help, our volunteer photographer and for popping down, and rangers for set up and break down and most importantly all of our organisations, winners and attendees.

If you came by, do let us know what you enjoyed the most and if you couldn’t, keep an eye for more posts on the event.

Have a fab weekend 🌞

Community Transport support residents across North Herts & Stevenage to get to hospital appointments and social clubs. The service uses a dedicated team of volunteers who all use their own cars in their free time to transport local people to their required destination. The Volunteer Drivers are paid a mileage rate to cover the distance they travel which is currently paid at 45p per mile.
Jon and the team are always looking for more drivers across Stevenage, Baldock, Letchworth and Hitchin.

👉 Check out the last slide to find our more or come and meet them at Hertfordshire Volunteer Fair on Friday 5th June in Hitchin.

Reach Out operates across Hertfordshire so please do reach out if you would like to support someone in your local area - check out the last slide to see their current volunteer opportunities, or come and say hi at the Hertfordshire Volunteer Fair happening tomorrow, Friday 5th June in Hitchin.

While we are finalising the last bits ready for the Hertfordshire Volunteer Fair tomorrow, we’re spending a few moments reminiscing on our event last year.

It was a great day full of conversation, the weather was kind to us (🌞) and we saw many inquisitive faces turn into inspired ones.

This year we have even more in store - more organisations, more celebrating and some more newness… I’ve heard there may even be cake… 🎂

✨ Volunteers’ Week is a chance to celebrate the incredible people who give their time to support others and strengthen our communities.

As Mike puts it, if you’re working in a job (or giving your time to something) that doesn’t excite you or spark passion, then what’s the point?

Feeling a bit of a crossroad’s, Mike decided to start volunteering at North Herts young people’s mental health charity, GRIT.
