Hitchin Thespians

Hitchin Thespians Hitchin Thespians is one of the longest running amateur theatre societies in the UK, founded in 1902! Send us a message to get involved!

We are a group of enthusiastic amateur who enjoy performing musical theatre shows and concerts. Whatever your musical tastes or skills, there will be a Hitchin Thespians production to match. We take on everything from the well-loved classics (Oliver!) through the modern (Made in Dagenham) to recent blockbusters (Sister Act). Whether you yearn to display your fancy footwork in a toe-tapping dance s

how (Anything Goes), give your vocal chords a workout (HMS Pinafore; Fauré’s Requiem) or lead the audience in a rousing version of Ding D**g Merrily (pretty much every Christmas since 1991), we have something you'll enjoy. You can find out more by browsing our list of Past Productions and Past Concerts http://www.hitchinthespians.org.uk/past.htm. The unique set-up of Hitchin Thespians allows members to experience an unrivalled variety of music. Some members choose to participate in all performances, others prefer to stick with one style, but once you are a vocal member the choice is yours and you will have the opportunity to potentially be part of all our concerts and shows. We have various productions a year currently comprising a Spring show, a Summer concert, and the ever-popular Christmas Special. Members are encouraged to get involved with everything we do - when you're not on-stage there are plenty of activities off-stage to keep you busy. Whether you are a whizz on the lighting board, want to help out in wardrobe or just enjoy painting scenery, we want to hear from you! Get in touch at [email protected] for a friendly welcome and further details. We look forward to hearing from you! (By the way, did we mention the fact that we frequently win awards from our local NODA group, have commissioned our own pieces, have performed world premieres, have taken a show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and host fund-raising concerts organised by our members?)

🌸 SPRING CONCERT GUIDE 🌸

Performances of our revue-style spring concert start this Friday evening at Woodside Hall in Hitchin. If you’re coming to watch, we’d recommend getting a copy of the concert programme on the door! 🎶

Whether you have in-depth knowledge of musical theatre or there are some songs you’ve never heard, the programme provides a full guide to the show. 🎵

It has details of each song and the show it is from, and provides a bit of context for any of the songs you are perhaps less familiar with! 🎭

We can’t wait to see you there! 💜

✨ Our Favourite Things - Coco 💜

In our concert this week, Coco Harwood will be singing the 'On My Own' solo in our Les Misérables medley. 🇫🇷

Coco said, "On My Own is my favourite song because Eponine has always been my dream role. The lyrics are very meaningful. Les Mis has helped me to learn to accept myself." 🎶

The medley will also include excerpts of 'At The End of the Day', 'I Dreamed a Dream', 'Castle on a Cloud', 'Do You Hear The People Sing?' and 'Bring Him Home', and will be the finale of the show!
