The 2026 Herts Book Festival is happening on Saturday 16 May at BEAM Hertford and Sunday 17 May at Southern Maltings Arts Centre, Ware.

Come along in this UK National Year of Reading for a celebration of books for all ages!

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of Hertfordshire’s liveliest community celebration of readers and writers?
From the first exciting ideas to the buzz of the festival days, it takes a brilliant team of enthusiastic people to bring the Herts Book Festival to life. And now, we’re looking for YOU!
We’re inviting book lovers, creative thinkers, enthusiastic organisers and anyone who simply wants to get involved, to help make the 2027 festival our best yet.
Join us for an informal, friendly evening to find out more and explore how you could be part of creating the 2027 Herts Book Festival.

Writers' Circle field trip! We visited the ruined Old Church at Thundridge, near Ware, where Emma of Thundridge Old Church Action Group told us about the fascinating history of the church and the surrounding landscape. It was lovely to feel inspired, sit in the sunshine and write.

Discover a different side of Ware after dark.

Ware Ghost Walks are now part of Southern Maltings, with Ware Town Guide and local historian John Wing returning to lead you through the town’s historic streets.

Hear ghostly tales, unexplained happenings and stories from Ware’s past, starting with two special Halloween walks before four different routes throughout the winter.

TOMORROW
I'll be at the Box Moor Trust Autumn Fair, selling my yoga and relaxation books for kids, and with a few of my daughter's candles which she is selling to raise money to volunteer in Borneo next year.
My kids are the reason I got into teaching pregnancy, postnatal and children's yoga.
Will they be there to support me tomorrow....?
Nope, one has a driving lesson and the other will be at a netball match.
The fact that they grew up and are doing amazing things shows just how long I've been at this yoga teaching game!
So please come and say hello! I'll be on my own, behind my table.
