From Mel’s rescue.

Thank you to everyone at Ragdoll-rescue UK for all the wonderful gifts that we received today for Delilah, she honestly is one very lucky girl. We cannot thank you enough for your ongoing support in Delilah’s road to recovery!

We would also like to thank the lovely couple Sharon and Gary for making the journey to us to personally drop it off on behalf of the rescue ❤️

Just an update to let everyone know that Delilah is home. Unfortunately as part of the incision site had to go through the area in which her burns were still healing the skin in that area has broken down along with the sutures. Along with dressing her back legs her foster mum will now also be dressing that area and treating it as an open wound. Sadly we were told that no more sutures can be put in place to try and hold it back together due to the likelihood of them just breaking down again. We now have an even longer road to recovery but we have already seen how resilient this little lady is 💪🏻.

Thank you again to everyone who donated towards her life saving surgery as we couldn’t have done it without you all ❤️

**UPDATE** DELILAH.

We have just received a call with the news we were all praying for! Everything has gone well with her surgery and she is now in recovery. She has to say at dick white referral hospital for 3 days following surgery to monitor her closely for sepsis. Her poor foster mum has been in floods of tears most of the day and hopes to be able to go and visit her tomorrow and provide everyone with a photo update of the little soldier fighting on!

We cannot thank everyone enough who has already donated towards her surgery. ❤️

‼️Delilah Update‼️

Since our last update of Delilah having a prolapse things have gone from bad to worse. After her prolapse correction surgery things started to get worse, she was very lethargic, quiet and refusing to eat. Today she was taken back to the vets for a check up and on an ultrasound scan it was found that she had an intussusception. An intussusception is a life threatening condition in which the intestines start to slide inside themselves. For this she required emergency surgery and has been rushed to Dick White Referral to have life saving surgery. That being said we do not know what the outcome will be as it all depends on how badly the intestines have become and if they are still viable. We later found out that what was coming out of her wasn’t actually a prolapse but her intussusception. We are waiting by the phone on tenterhooks to hear whether it’s been a good outcome. We were made aware that if there is to much damage then she may need to be euthanised on the operating table but we are praying that being the fighter that she is that she will be ok and overcome this. If she does pull through she will be required to stay there for 3 days to be closely monitored for sepsis. As you can imagine sending her to a referral centre has been far from cheap and we have been estimated £7000 for surgery and hospitalisation which payment will be required on collection of her. Although we raised quite a bit most of it has already been spent on her burns recovery. We know that Delilah has touched so many hearts and we really hate to ask again as so many people have already dug deep to contribute towards her burns but we would be really grateful for any help we can get towards her surgery. We will be sure to update everyone as soon as we know how the surgery has gone. For now we pray that she is in the best hands with top specialists and that she comes out fighting. After everything she has been through we simply cannot give up on her now.

UPDATE. AMAZING NEWS

Guess who’s home ❤️❤️❤️

She still has to back for sedation and bandages changes every other day as although her pain is managed on oral meds at home it is still uncomfortable for her when they are being removed and reapplied. As time and healing goes on she will be able to have her bandages changed at home.

She is really enjoying being out of a clinical settling despite the attention she got there as there is much more to see and do. 😸

Update from the vet nurse looking after Delilah and who will be taking her home.
Her back legs are now growing tissue which is excellent news as there were concerns. Her front paws are only creamed every other day now and are doing well.
She had some necrotic tissue removed from her tummy yesterday and she is having silver dressings applied for the healing process.
She is very strong willed. Loves a cuddle and when the bandages are off her front paws she is staring to play with toys.
She is being babied by the nurses and all staff and now shouts for cuddles.
She may be in the vets for another week. All going in the right direction so fingers crossed it continues ###

Update re Delilah.
Thank you simon, we know how much this has touched you.
Update from veterinary nurse today: “She is extremely strong willed and if fighting spirit. Despite all she has been through she purrs like a train, loves her grub and even plays with her toys despite having her massive boxing gloves on. She honestly really wants to live.”
