Very interesting talk, 110 year anniversary of the battle of The Somme.
Phillip Whittall Eardisley standard bearer, Kelvyn Jenkins bugler, Richard Goodwin piper, and a few members will be on The Somme for the services of remembrance.

They are not forgotten, now sleeping in distant fields; always remembered.

I woke up this morning thinking about two local legends. Mr Tom Carter of Eardisley and Mr Bill Eskins of Pembridge later Kington when he married my nan.

Both men were quiet and unassuming. Loving family men who fought for their country; their communities; their loved ones on and around D Day. They both came back and carried on with life.

I never knew my grandad’s story until I was given his medals. I now wear them with pride to all the events I attend ❤️

We thank them both and all the others like them that answered the call to arms, for their remarkable courage.

We will remember you ❤️
