On 3rd July, Lee Oldaker, Ray Gore and Alan Peake set off on an epic challenge, cycling from John O'Groats to Land's End.

Over 10 days, they'll cover around 1,000 miles, taking on long days in the saddle, tough climbs and whatever the weather decides to throw at them, all while raising money for George's Fund.♥️

Wye Float are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team for this year’s event on Saturday 8th August 2026 at Hereford Rugby Club! 🎶🌊☀️

We’re looking for friendly, reliable people to help with:

✅ Stewarding & Marshalling
✅ Car Parking
✅ River Safety
✅ Ticket Sales & Merchandise
✅ Bus Stewarding
✅ Media Team
✅ Event Setup & Pack-down

Whether you can help for one shift or the whole weekend, we’d love to hear from you!

🕣 Morning: 08:00 – 13:00
🕐 Afternoon: 13:00 – 18:00

No previous experience is necessary for most roles - just a positive attitude and willingness to help.

£4,250.00 🥹

Back in 2024, I applied to the Hereford Crematorium Metals Recycling Scheme, a scheme which raises money for charities through recycled metals from cremation services, knowing there was a long waiting list and never really expecting George’s Fund to be selected.

A few weeks ago, I received a phone call to say we had been chosen.

This donation will make a huge difference to George’s Fund and the local outdoor projects we support, just in time for our next round of awards.

Thank you to everyone who came along yesterday, it was such a great day, and really humbling to see all the orange floating down the river.

A huge thank you as well to the best media bunch in the land, Fir Tree Media, who have been so supportive from the moment we met and captured the day so beautifully.

We’re bringing something brand new to Wye Float this summer… introducing the free Safari Disco at Hereford Rugby Club! 🌿✨

A full hour of children’s music, dancing, games and safari-themed fun - perfect for little adventurers and mini dancers alike 🦁🎈

However, all children must obtain a ticket via our website before attending.

⚠️ Please note:

The Safari Disco is located within the Wye Float Festival site, therefore accompanying adults must hold a valid Wye Float Festival ticket - with adult tickets starting from just £12, giving access to the festival site from 11am until 11:30pm.

Children must also be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18+.

🏰 Bouncy castles will also be available throughout the event for an additional cost.

I didn’t manage to get any decent photos, so here’s one of Oscar and George instead (with Harry, the why behind it all).

It was such a pleasure to join ST Martins Bowls Club at their committee meeting this week, talking all things George and George’s Fund.

We were incredibly grateful to be presented with a cheque for £1,026, an amazing amount! Fundraising is no easy feat, so we truly know how much hard work went into raising this.

As always, we’re completely blown away by the generosity and by people continuing to think of GF. Thank you so much to Keri and all the members, it really does mean the world 🌍
