At the Cart Shed we help those who are experiencing an imbalance in their lives to heal, find friendship and a future.

The Cart Shed is a charity based in North Herefordshire that uses the natural woodland environment to encourage people to improve their health, learn new skills, or simply meet new people and have fun. Sessions are run by tutors, occupational therapists and mental health practitioners to help improve wellbeing and foster a sense of belonging in a calm, supportive and caring environment.

As October draws to a close we've been having fun in the woods enjoying seasonal activities and the glorious autumn colour and swirling misty mornings. More courses are due to begin towards the end of November, so get in touch if you need to improve your mental health and wellbeing. So much difference made to so many and all while you are having fun - thank you to everyone involved for all you do.

❤️ 25 years. £250,000 raised. One final celebration.

On Saturday, we gathered at The Alma to celebrate the incredible legacy of Linton Festival and distribute thousands of pounds to local charities and organisations.

Since the festival began, our amazing volunteers, generous sponsors and loyal festival-goers have helped us raise and donate an incredible £250,000 to good causes. This year, 20 charities and organisations will benefit from our fundraising.

We were delighted to be joined by a selection of those organisations - John Kyrle High School, MND Association, Help Appeal - County Air Ambulance Trust, Hope Support Services, Herefordshire Mind and Linton Brownies.

With 2026 marking our final festival, it was a chance to celebrate everyone who has made it so special over the years, and we partied late into the night. Special thanks to Dan and Gemma for hosting us in true Alma style - great food, drinks a plenty, wonderful company.

🎶 And what better way to round things off than with music? Mike Bertenshaw, our Music Director and a founding member of LF, played at the very first festival, so it was only fitting that he took to the stage one last time.

A huge thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey. We couldn't have done it without you! ❤️

Could you come and volunteer with Young Cart Shed?

Here is what Lily Age 19 has said about her Cart Shed experience:

"Volunteering at the cart shed has given me a unique perspective of people, and valuable experience with soft skills. Helping with the older group (14-18 years old), I have learnt how to create a safe, supportive atmosphere by crafting alongside young people. This was anything from needle felting to willow basket weaving. Attempting to teach crochet was humbling and has improved the way I communicate. The daily nature walks with the younger kids (10-13 year olds) are a joy, and have taught me to pay attention to my surroundings in more detail. It is very grounding.

Working alongside the amazing tutors, staff and other volunteers, I have always felt encouraged and supported. The team is a lovely bunch. The most rewarding part of being a volunteer is watching young people grow in confidence. Especially when they have an impressive craft to show for it!

Overall, I have a better understanding of people, and more patience and respect for all."

What a taste sensation for Young Cart Shed this morning. 13 varieties of delicious home grown tomatoes to try. Everything from beef and plum, to vine and heritage - amazing! Varieties include Sweet Millions, Tumbling Tom Yellow, Buffalo, Tough Cookie, Tumbling Tom Red, Black Opal, Indigo Rose and Sun Gold.

Volunteer drivers needed, can you help? Do you have a few hours a week you could give The Cart Shed Charity and become one of our amazing volunteer drivers? We have a 9 seat people carrier and a 17 seat minibus. 17 seat bus needs a D1 licence, the people carrier can be driven on a standard driving licence. The Cart Shed is based in Norton Canon, Herefordshire and our participants who use the bus come from Hereford, Leominster and Kington. 25+ Full driving licence required, some minibus driving experience helpful, but not essential.
