🐾 Enjoy Kennel Club and novelty approved classes of the finest and friendliest dogs Pembrokeshire has to offer.
🐾 Dog owners and spectators alike can enjoy cream teas, craft stalls, and old-fashioned fete games, including Welly Wanging, Hook A Duck, and Hoopla.

🐾 Dogs will be judged in the following classes:

Join us this Saturday, 20th June, for rare evening access to Picton Castle & Gardens!

The castle will be open from 5pm - 6pm, with the gardens staying open until 9pm.

From 7pm you can enjoy live flamenco music from Llewellin Duo in the Courtyard.

Entry from 5pm will be half price and this event is free for all season pass members.

Maria's Restaurant will be offering a special buffet with cocktail on arrival, delicious Spanish mains and dessert, call 01347 751346 to book your table (please note tables are limited and reservations must be booked in advance).

Come and enjoy a fantastic atmosphere as we celebrate Midsummer Night in true Spanish style!

🎨Calling all Budding Artists on Sunday 21st June🎨

This is the fifth year of the Picton Landscape Challenge, in association with the Fishguard Arts Society and is set to be the biggest ever!

The competition is open to everyone! Competitors have four and a half hours to complete a piece of art within Picton Castle’s Gardens.
Artists should bring along their own materials and, ideally, a folding chair and easel. Any medium is welcome.

Entry to the competition costs £11, or just £5 to those with a Picton Annual Pass.

Entry is payable on the day to Picton Castle & Gardens.

Gates open at 10am, finished pieces need to be placed in the courtyard gallery at 2.30pm. Renowned artist Nicky Philipps will be choosing the winners.

Whether competing or not, it is a great day out for all the family so we hope to see you there!

A 700 year old historic house, set in 50 acres of stunning gardens which are recognised by the Royal Horticulture Society as a Partner Garden. Open daily, (castle open in the afternoons only). Adventure Playground and seasonal trails for children.

Norena will chat about Katherine’s extraordinary story and why she has been ignored for so long. The event will be brought to life with colourful presentations, poetry readings, and audience Q&As, which will amuse and amaze and show why Katherine Philips must be regarded as one of Wales’ best poets.

📖Book Launch 📖

Join Author Norena Shopland, in association with Parthian Books, as they launch their new biography Katherine Philips: My Love All Love Excels at Picton Castle & Gardens, 3pm on Friday 12th June.

Katherine Philips was an Anglo-Welsh poet and Picton Castle resident during the 17th Century. She has many accolades – the first woman to have a play commercially produced; a Civil War poet of distinction; someone who broke the rules of poetry; one of the first notable female poets in the world; one of the first to write of same-sex attraction, the list goes on.

Norena will chat about Katherine’s extraordinary story and why she has been ignored for so long. The event will be brought to life with colourful presentations, poetry readings, and audience Q&As, which will amuse and amaze and show why Katherine Philips must be regarded as one of Wales’ best poets.

We recently had a visit from the TR Register Shropshire Group. We couldn't resist asking them to park in front of the castle for this fantastic photo opportunity!
