This weeks Dig for Victory dodged the rain and had the team getting lots of jobs done around the World War 2 bunkers and our wonderful d4v allotment.

Weeding, repairing, picking, tidying and also discovering the base of the road placed here in 1939/1940.

During the next season we aim to continue with our heritage tours for schools getting into nature, archaeology, understanding cultivating and biodiversity with lots of other events all in one area of costal historic reffrence for Pembrokeshire.

This week we are having the healthy living team in and advice on stopping smoking.

From 10am at 30 High Street Haverfordwest we have our fab community breakfast club, sponsored by our Haverfordwest town council the breakfast supports so many people in our town.

Huge thanks to Travis Perkins for the support this summer.

Our Dig for Victory project helps our Veterans and community get into nature, learn new skills, cultivate the soil to grow vegetables and herbs.

When we have a batch of vegetables and herbs it feeds back into our community, both in the dishes we serve in Pembroke Dock VC and to our distributors to veteran lead business throughout Pembrokeshire.

All in all we are encouraging health and wellbeing, sense of community and eating healthy.

Art workshops today with L U C I E 🌟🦋

The VC Gallery is looking forward to inviting talented artist and musician Lucie to our VC on the Riverside Haverfordwest.

Starting at 11am join us for a special creative and wellbeing art workshop centering on self care.

Joined by our friend and art psychotherapist Ellie Hanley this will be a super welcoming environment and a chance to get to see International artist Raul Speek exhibition 'From Cuba to Pembrokeshire'

Yesterday's D4V project had us feeding the birds, weeding the crop, getting jobs done for Autumn and picking vegetables and herbs 🌿

We would like to thank everyone from Neyland Ron Skinner & Sons for their support over the past 5 years, helping us get down to our projects rain or shine and give areas of Pembrokeshire support to tackle isolation.

And this week to assist us with our ground work we have received a new wheelbarrow from Travis and Perkins. Great example of business supporting the 3rd sector. Thank you.

Our work in nature is part of a wider project portfolio, with the woodlands at Milford Haven and our heritage metal detecting project 'Found in the ground "

This summer we have been working with our friends at Milford Youth Matters from joining them agian at the Under the Bridge project and this week we were delighted to have them visit the VC Haverfordwest.

Working with Charlie and his creative recycled spoon and fork jewellery and Donna for bracelets and book tags it was fab to have them all in our creative space.

🍗🥗 Now THAT’S what we call a community lunch! 🥔😋

A HUGE thank you to our brilliant volunteers who cooked and served up an absolutely delicious spread of chicken, fresh salads, potatoes and all the trimmings today. ❤️

We fed nearly 60 people! 🙌 And judging by those plates (and smiles!), it definitely went down well!

And as if that wasn’t enough… Ann made a delicious sponge for afters! 🍰😍 There’s always room for cake!

Great food, great company and a fantastic team effort. Thank you to everyone who helped cook, prepare, serve, clear up and make it happen. You’re stars! ⭐️

Dig for Victory project every Tuesday 🙌

Transport available from VC Gallery Pembroke Dock and Haverfordwest.

Join us this week for a mix of heritage and sustainability.

All on the VC gallery Dig for Victory project at St Ishmael's near the beautiful National park.
