🇬🇧 Is it time for shops to offer more staffed checkouts?

Self-service tills are now a regular feature of shopping across Britain. But opinions differ on how far they should replace checkouts operated by staff.

A recent Which? survey found that 50% of shoppers preferred self-service, often for its speed, while 34% favoured staffed tills. Meanwhile, 26% identified a shortage of staffed checkouts as one of their frustrations when shopping in-store.

For customers who need assistance, having someone available can make a real difference. UK government research into accessibility found that disabled consumers experienced difficulties with inaccessible checkouts and a lack of available staff. Equality guidance also requires service providers to consider reasonable adjustments for disabled customers.

Retail experts say supermarkets are increasingly aiming to offer a combination of staffed tills, self-service checkouts and handheld scanning, giving shoppers different ways to pay.

As one of the last remaining charity shops on Haverfordwest high street, we are incredibly grateful for your continued support!

We are currently Accepting all Donations, we are especially looking for:-

Bric-a-brac: Ornaments, pictures, tea sets, pottery, and clocks etc.

Clothing: Clean, good-quality sellable clothes & shoes.

Items we cannot accept: Unfortunately we cannot take duvets, very old electronics. Used makeup, creams etc.

How to find us: You are welcome to drop items off at the front of the shop. Alternatively, for easier unloading, you can drive through the archway by Todaroes and look out for our grey metal gates on the right. Thank you for helping us make a difference!

The Welsh Spitfire Museum is proud to announce that it has received official accreditation from Visit Wales for the second consecutive year. We invite visitors to explore our newly expanded collection, featuring unique wartime memorabilia and historical displays.

We Urgently need good quality household DONATIONS for our Charity Shop. We especially need bric-à-brac such as ornaments, vases, pictures, trinkets, gardening items, tea sets, display pots, jewellery, cameras, office stationery, jugs etc. You can either drop off your donations at the shop, if we are closed you can leave them out the front in our covered porch, or we can collect locally for free.
Unfortunately we can not take duvets or mattress protectors.
