🌊 Every summer, we hear heartbreaking stories of young people getting into trouble in the water.

As a coastal town, it’s especially important in Hartlepool that children and young people understand the risks — and know what to do if they find themselves in difficulty.

💙 That’s why our young people have created this resource — designed to share vital water safety information in a fun, engaging and easy-to-understand way.

🙌 Created by young people, for young people

✨ A big part of what we do here at Hartlepool Youth Service is supporting young people to explore and tackle the issues that matter most to them.

💡 We’re proud to work alongside young people to create a wide range of projects and resources designed by them, for them.

📘 One of these is Canny CV – a handy, easy-to-use guide packed with tips and support on writing your very first CV, along with lots of other helpful information that young people told us they needed.

🚀 Whether you’re starting to think about jobs, training or your future, this guide is a great place to begin!

🌟 Celebrating Volunteers’ Week at Rossmere Youth Club! 🌟
This Volunteers’ Week, we’re shining a very special spotlight on one of our amazing volunteers – Alaina 💛

After attending the youth club herself for a number of years, she made the leap into volunteering—and what a difference she has made!

💬 Team Leader Caitlin shared:
“Alaina has come such a long way since becoming a volunteer. Her confidence has grown so much, and she’s developed brilliant skills in working with young people. She’s always willing to get involved, whether that’s supporting activities or leading her own, and she really takes the time to build positive relationships. Alaina has become a vital part of Rossmere Youth Club, and we can’t thank her enough for her hard work and commitment.”

Alaina, we are so proud of you and incredibly grateful for everything you do. You truly make Rossmere Youth Centre a better place! 🌈

🌟 What a brilliant day for youth voice in the North East! 🌟
Hartlepool’s MYP and members of Youth Voice were invited to an inspiring conference hosted by Durham Youth Council – and what an opportunity it was! 🙌

They joined young people from across the whole region to share ideas, connect, and have their say on the three biggest issues facing the North East. 🗣️💡

Through discussion and collaboration, they worked together to decide which issue should be taken forward as a regional priority – and they chose health and wellbeing 🧠💚
The exciting part? 🤝

They’ll now be working together with other young people across the North East to campaign, take action, and make a real difference on this important topic! 💪✨
A fantastic example of young people leading the way and making their voices heard – we’re so proud of you all! 👏💙

💛 A little update about our SEN group, who meet on a Thursday at Throston! 💛

Wow – it looks like we’re just too popular! 🫶 We’re so grateful for all the interest and support, but sadly we’re now at full capacity!

To make sure we can give every young person the best, safest, and most enjoyable experience, we do need to limit numbers.

✨ The good news! ✨
You can still join our waiting list!

📩 Just pop us an email at: [email protected] and we’ll add you to the list.
Thank you so much for understanding and for being part of our amazing community 💫
