🎄 I KNOW, I KNOW… CHRISTMAS COMES EARLIER EVERY YEAR! 🎄

Halloween was only on Saturday, so apologies for talking about Christmas already… but I want to give Hartlepool’s young artists as much time as possible, because my Christmas Card Competition starts today! 🎨✨

For the next three weeks, I’m asking children aged 12 and under to design the front of my official Christmas card.

The winning design will be printed and sent to businesses, charities, community organisations and local leaders right across Hartlepool this Christmas.

How to enter: Create your Christmas card design, then either take a clear photo or scan and email it to [email protected] or post/drop the original into Office of Jonathan Brash MP, 206 York Road, Hartlepool, TS26 9EB.

Please make sure every entry includes the young artist’s name, age, and school or organisation. If they’re home educated, just put “home educated” or the name of their home-education group, so nobody is left out and we can properly credit every artist.

📅 Deadline: Friday 20 November 2026

Once entries close, Jonathan and Santa himself will have the very difficult job of choosing the winning design 🎅

So, pens, pencils, paints and glitter at the ready. Good luck, and get designing! 🎨🎄

Thank you so much Matthew, everyone please follow Sycamore Gardening and show him some support he goes above and beyond for everyone he works with!

A quiet morning in the community garden today, the Eco Club kids may not have been here, but I still popped in to help out. I made sure the space was not only tidy but, more importantly, safe for when they’re back. Ivy cleared from the walkways, stinging nettles pulled from the borders, and those thorny brambles finally gone before a full sweep and tidy!

The work Voices Of Hartlepool and Thrive Teesside do is genuinely brilliant. Giving children a safe, creative space to explore nature and get hands‑on with gardening feels more important than ever in a technological age. It’s exactly why I love volunteering here, and I’m really grateful to be asked back to support the Eco Club sessions.

I’ve got some great ideas lined up for the next few activities, and I’m excited to see the kids back in the garden soon.

I know the charities are always looking for donations for the garden too so anything is always appreciated no matter how small!
