If you are caring for someone receiving PIP there is still time to register your interest for a place to have your say on the Timms Review's recommendations.

Timms Review: There’s still time to register to help shape the recommendations.

The Government is reviewing how Personal Independence Payment (PIP) works and they’re asking carers and disabled people to help shape the Review’s recommendations.

There will be 15 workshops across the country during September and October 2026 - nine will be in-person and six online. Participants will be invited to discuss and refine the Review’s emerging recommendations.

This is an important issue for carers. We know that many carers care for someone on PIP whilst receiving Carer’s Allowance. And many others are on PIP as well as Carer’s Allowance - or on PIP without receiving Carer’s Allowance.

👉 Registration of interest is still open, but you need to hurry as registration will close by 5pm today, Friday 21 August 2026. Places will be selected at random.

🔗 Register your interest by completing this form: https://bit.ly/4clmExN

You can find out more about the Review, including the time and locations of workshops, payments, and their approach to accessibility and inclusion here: https://bit.ly/4wk21cF

Share your views on North Yorkshire’s All-age Carers’ Strategy
North Yorkshire Council have developed a new All-age Carers’ Strategy with carers and partner organisations to help improve the lives of unpaid carers across the county. Feedback is invited to help ensure the final strategy reflects the realities of caring and meets carers' needs.

Alternatively, you can request a copy from North Yorkshire Council libraries, Active North Yorkshire Leisure and Wellbeing Hubs or by calling 0300 131 2131 (saying ‘Carers’ when prompted). Responses must be submitted by Wednesday 27 September 2026.
