We are a group of local people who raise funds and awareness in support of Citizens Advice in our area. Citizens Advice is a local charity which supports people in times of crisis - it was established 80 years ago to provide help in times of need for local people. They have a team of 83 volunteers and 12 paid staff who provide support, information and advice for people living, working or studying in the area who are in need of help and support with issues such as claiming welfare benefit entitlements; debt or facing financial hardship; eviction and being at risk of homelessness; living in sub-standard of accommodation; suffering from domestic abuse; being unfairly treated at work; needing support and advice because of their immigration or asylum status or as a result of discrimination or hate crime.
