Just to remind you all we have insufficient volunteer cover to accept any donations at the moment. Please hang on to anything you have until we let you know we’re back on stream. We’d love more volunteers - message us or call into shop if you can help.

Sadly bags left on the church step in the rain under the notice saying ‘No Donations Accepted’ have had to be binned - this costs us money so please help us out 🙏

Shop open Fri 23rd Oct 1000-1530
Also open next Thurs 29th Oct 1800-2000

Just found out today is National ReUse Day. There are many ways you can reuse - donating to a charity shop is only one of them. Whilst we are unable to take donations for a few weeks, why not explore one of the other options?

Good news or bad news? I suppose it depends on your point of view

Thanks to your generous donations our stockroom is full to bursting - so after this week we need to pause donations acceptance for a few weeks…

Don’t forget there are other fabulous charity shops in the area:
- Charity 1st Illingworth Road
- Overgate Illingworth Bank Edge
- British Heart Foundation Pellon Lane

Or just hang on for a few weeks until we are able to accept donations again Fri 27th November 🙏 if we can make it earlier we will xx

It’s a difficult conversation…

Talking about poor donations is sensitive. We’re so grateful for saleable donations and don't want to put people off.

But disposing of broken or mouldy items we can't sell unfortunately does cost money. And waste can increase when donations are left outside in the rain at the shop door.

😢

Broken, dirty and downright grotty donations are costing hospice charities tens of thousands of pounds to dispose of.

Apologies, we struggle to sell mouldy items and we have to pay to have our rubbish removed ☹️ can I kindly ask that you consider whether you would be willing to buy what you donate?… The council will take these in your normal rubbish collection.
