We’re delighted to be welcoming PLACE CIO to Grangetown Generations this October half term, bringing some fantastic activities for local children and young people!

If your child loves building, gaming, technology or getting creative, these fun and inclusive sessions are not to be missed! 🌟

❤️ A New Way to Support Grangetown Generations!

We’re delighted to announce that our brand-new contactless donation terminal is now installed and ready to use at our reception!

We were incredibly fortunate to be selected by Payaz as one of just 200 charities across the UK to receive a donation terminal completely free of charge! A fantastic opportunity to help us raise vital funds for our community.

As a charity run entirely by volunteers, we rely on fundraising, grants and the generosity of our community to keep our doors open and continue supporting local people.

Whether it’s providing activities for children, supporting families in need, tackling loneliness or simply keeping our community centre running, every donation really does make a difference.

💚 You can now donate £2, £5, £10, £20 or any amount you choose, simply by tapping your card or phone.

There’s absolutely no pressure to donate, but if you’re visiting our centre and can spare a little, we’d be incredibly grateful.

100% volunteer-run. Community-focused. Here for our community.

💃🕺 TEES DANCE IS COMING TO GRANGETOWN GENERATIONS! 🎉

We’re delighted to welcome TeesDance to Grangetown Generations Centre & Library this November!

Thanks to funding from the Woodsmith Foundation, these fantastic dance and social sessions for people aged 50+ are completely FREE! ❤️

📢 REDUCED OPENING HOURS – NEXT WEEK

We’ll be operating reduced building opening hours from Monday 5th – Friday 9th October.

Importantly, our regular weekly groups and activities are NOT affected and will continue as normal.

The reduced hours only limit general access to the building, including reception support, public computers and our community library.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Normal building hours will resume the following week.

💚 A little reminder about Grangetown Generations…

We are aware of some recent comments suggesting that people feel they “get nothing” from Generations and, as a team, we are genuinely disappointed to hear this.

Grangetown Generations is a registered charity run entirely by volunteers, with no paid staff. We receive no ongoing financial support from anyone, have no regular income and hold no funded delivery contracts. We continually fundraise and rely on donations simply to operate and keep both our buildings open.

Our main priority is providing free support to local families and individuals in crisis. Much of this work happens quietly behind the scenes because it is sensitive and confidential.

We also run social groups such as bingo and regularly hold fundraising activities like raffles and blind cards where those taking part have the chance to win prizes while directly supporting the running of the charity.

We charge no membership fees and expect no regular donations or payments from anyone. Whether somebody chooses to take part in a fundraising is entirely their choice, there is zero expectation from us.

When budgets allow, we always provide free parties, events, activities and trips to give back to our regular supporters and users. Or at least subsidies where we can.

We often hear that “there isn’t enough in our community.” Yet when local volunteers step forward, give their time for free and work hard to provide something, it is a real shame when those efforts aren’t appreciated.

We can’t provide everything for free all of the time. What we can provide will always depend on the resources available to us.

Our volunteers give an incredible amount to this community, and their efforts should never be taken for granted. 💚

We’re aware of the vandalism and graffiti on the InPost locker outside our building.

This has been reported directly to InPost, and we’ve asked for the locker to be cleaned and restored as soon as possible.
