This is where Teesside at Christmas 2026 really begins.

Our referral period has now finished and REFERRALS ARE CLOSED. We have worked with our referral partners to understand and validate the need across Teesside, and now we're asking our community to help us meet it.

Every number you see in our need is based on the real referrals we've received from organisations supporting people across Teesside. We don't simply collect as much as possible and work out what to do with it afterwards. We want your generosity directed towards genuine local need.

You can help with a shoebox or Christmas gift bag, individual new gifts, non-perishable food items or complete food hampers. Registration is required for shoeboxes and gift bags, while registration for individual gifts and food donations is optional.

📅 ALL DONATIONS MUST BE WITH US BY SATURDAY 5TH DECEMBER

Our main drop-off day is:

Saturday 5th December | 9am–3pm
St Hilda's Church, Roseberry Road, Redcar

Please remember that we are unable to offer collections this year at all, so donations will need to be brought to us this year.

And one more time because we know people will ask: referrals for 2026 are now CLOSED. We cannot accept any further referrals.

🎄 Teesside at Christmas 2026 - Referrals Are Now Open

Before we ask Teesside for a single Christmas gift, we need to understand who actually needs our help.

We are now welcoming referrals from local charities, schools, social services and other trusted organisations supporting people who may otherwise go without this Christmas.

There is no age limit. Children, teenagers, adults, families and older people can all be referred where there is genuine need.

Every referral matters to us because behind every one is a real person in Teesside. We work with our referral partners to validate the referrals we receive, and those referrals then become the need you will eventually see on our donation platform.

That is an important part of how Teesside at Christmas works.

We don't want to ask our community for things we don't need. We want the gifts and donations people generously give us to meet genuine, identified local need.

If your organisation already has an account with us, you can simply log in and begin adding your 2026 referrals.

If you support people in Teesside and haven't worked with us before, we'd love to hear from you. Please email [email protected] and we'll help get your organisation set up.

Note: Referrals must come from an approved organisation and not an individual.

❤️ LOCAL BUSINESSES - WE NEED YOUR HELP TOO

Before the mountains of donated presents appear, there are very real costs involved in making all of this happen.

We've been incredibly fortunate in previous years to have local businesses support our operational costs. That money helps with the practical costs of running the appeal and also allows us to purchase gifts where donations haven't met a particular referral.

Our budgets are running low this year, so financial support from local businesses would be enormously appreciated. Whether you can make a donation, sponsor some of our operating costs or simply want to discuss how your business could support the appeal, please contact us at [email protected].

We did it! 🥳🙌

We'd like to say a huge thank you to all parents, carers, community members and staff who donated to our Teesside at Christmas 2025 donation drive which we held at our Rosedene Redcar nursery.

Thanks to you all, we were able to donate over 60 parcels to those families across Teesside who otherwise may not have had anything under their tree this Christmas.

Teesside at Christmas 2025 - you made this happen 💙

Every year I am blown away by the kindness of people across Teesside, but this year has felt extra special. We are a small charity with almost no budget, run in spare hours, but held up by people who simply refuse to let others go without.

Because of you, this year we have:
🎁 Packed and delivered around 1100 gift bags and boxes
🎁 Given over 100 extra gifts to people in real need
🎁 Sent out 100 food hampers

Behind every one of those numbers is a person who will wake up on Christmas Day to something they were not expecting. And we aren't talking just a single gift. You packed full shoeboxes and gift bags with care, thinking about the person who would open them. You chose things that would make someone feel remembered, not forgotten. That is the real magic of Christmas.

We only ever ask for what we are referred. We do not collect “extras” to store away or just give away like a free-for-all. Your donations go straight to people who have been identified as needing support, in our own communities, right now. In a world that can feel harsh and unfair, you have helped make sure that families here feel seen, valued, and included.

This year we have been able to support:
RCBC - Children Social Care, Nite Light CIC, TEES, Grangetown Generations, Dave Saunders Football Academy, TCD Middlesbrough & Teesside, Nepacs, Linthorpe Community Primary School, The Chris Cave Foundation, Rosedene Nurseries and more...

We have also had incredible support from local businesses who chose to stand with us and rally their staff, customers, and friends:
Normanby Court, Middlesbrough, ArtAV, Rosedene Nurseries, Priory Woods School and Arts College, Newcastle Building Society (Stokesley), Vision Training North East, Eton Environmental Group, ARC Stockton, SUEZ UK, Hope Netball Club, The Devonport Middleton One Row, Tees Valley Combined Authority, Boro Runners, UKSBS, The Grenfell Club, Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council

Teesside always shows up. We look after our own. When times are hard, this community pulls together so that no one is left behind and fewer people feel alone. That spirit is what Teesside at Christmas is built on, and you prove it year after year.

To every individual, every family, every workplace, every group that donated, collected, shared posts, organised, sorted, lifted, drove, and cared – thank you. You have given more than gifts. You have given people a reason to feel hopeful this Christmas.

Yesterday has left me feeling proud, tired, and very grateful.

To everyone who came out to donate, thank you. You did something important today.

To our volunteers, there are no words big enough. You have sorted, lifted, carried, checked, organised, and cared from the moment this appeal began. Because of you, families across Teesside will wake up to gifts they did not expect, at a time they really need to feel seen.

A huge thank you to Gemma, Aimee, Seren, Denise, Dean, Lucy, Joe, Tracey, Emma, Kirsty, Rob & Margaret for standing beside me all the way through this year’s appeal and today in particular.

You have shown what community looks like. You turned up. You stayed. You worked until the last bag was moved and the last label was written. Teesside at Christmas exists in the way it does because of people like you.

From my heart, thank you for giving your time, your strength, and your care to families you may never meet.

Our collection day is finished. We are now set up for the official drop off day tomorrow. The amount of bags we move and have to move again tomorrow is back breaking. We are exhausted. But tomorrow is a new day. Thank you so much to all the incredible organisations and individuals who have donated this year. We are full of gratitude. ❤️❤️ We had a large van full from bottom to top, front to back. Thank you!
