Hello everyone

I hope anyone who knows me, knows I’m not afraid of hard work. So, when offered the chance to create a ‘not-for-profit’ business in a building in Grangetown, which is currently out of service, I jumped at the chance.

Having established a CIC – Company First, we have spent quite a long time trying to influence grant agencies – which have been specifically set up to assist in areas such as Grangetown - with no great success so far. All seem to like the principal of the project, all can see the possibility of sustainability, but not many grants cover capital costs i.e. refurbishing the building.

Recently we identified the ‘Cost of Living Resilience Fund’, which can grant-aid to the value of 3:1. Which, in effect, means: we raise 25p and they add 75p making £1.

The Crowdfunder information has been posted many times on social media and I personally, can’t thank enough those who have contributed so far. Problem being – we need a bit more. The information on how to contribute has been seen by 1493 people. It’s being well shared and, if it was shared again and just £1.50 was received from each view, we would be well on our way to target.

I’m rambling now, so I’ll finish by asking – if you can spare £1.50, please do contribute. Details follow.

Ooh and just to put your mind at rest, should the CIC not survive and have to close, remaining contributions will go to Teesside Hospice because a CIC, or it’s employees/volunteers cant benefit from any funds donated.
