Last month, Gary, who we support in Lanarkshire, celebrated his birthday, surrounded by family and friends!

Gary kicked off the celebrations with a fantastic game show-themed birthday party, where everyone enjoyed joining in the fun. It was wonderful to see so many friends and family come together to celebrate his special day and make lasting memories.

To round off the celebrations, Gary enjoyed a lovely evening with his two cousins, where they treated themselves to a delicious Chinese meal together. It was the perfect way to finish a birthday full of fun, friendship and family.

Happy Birthday, Gary! We hope you had a fantastic day and made lots of wonderful memories.

The Scottish Government have recently launched two surveys, seeking to gather the views and experiences of children and young people and parents/carers in relation to their online activities, digital wellbeing, online safety, use of social media and digital devices, and the support and information they may find helpful.

The results of this survey will inform the development of Scottish Government policy, guidance and services relating to online safety and digital wellbeing.

For the people we support in their homes in Lanarkshire, one of the highlights of July is our annual Great Garden Bake Off, which brings together the people we support, their families, friends and staff for a fantastic day of fun, laughter and, of course, plenty of delicious baking!

This year, everyone embraced the friendly competition, arriving with an amazing selection of homemade cakes, traybakes, biscuits and sweet treats, all hoping to be crowned this year's Star Baker. The standard was incredibly high, making it a very difficult job for our judges Drew, Anita and their daughter Zara who live next to one of our services.

The judges decided that June’s fabulous carrot cake won 1st prize, Alison's chocolate gateau came in 2nd and Michelle's carrot cake came in 3rd. The “good effort but not quite there cake” was won by Lyndsey, who took it in great fun.

Thank you to everyone who came together, caught up with friends and families, enjoyed the sunshine and strengthened the sense of community that makes our service so special. An extra special huge thank you goes to everyone who baked, judged, helped organise the event and came along to support it. We're already looking forward to next year's competition!

We're 19% of the way there - can you help us reach our target?

From now until Friday, 28 August, pledge to donate to Sense Scotland, and you could get your donation doubled in December! For example, this means that by pledging to donate £200 now, you’ll help raise £400 for people with communication support needs and sensory disabilities.

You don’t need to pay anything now – at this point, we’re just looking for a promise.
