CALLING ALL FILMMAKERS | We're programming GROUNDED, a film festival touring communities across Scotland in Autumn 2027, and we're asking for your help building it. Funded by

Submit a film, any length, any genre, on land ownership, local land histories, place and belonging, land justice, equity, climate, or community resilience. Documentary, drama, animation, experimental, whatever suits the story.

This is open to established filmmakers and first-time storytellers alike. No entry fee.

We're commissioning three storytelling residencies for Community Land Scotland's Cultural Programme, working across Gàidhlig, Scots and English, each paired with two community groups: Bays of Harris Community Estate and Uig Development Trust in the Gàidhlig strand, A' the Airts and Largo Communities Together in the Scots strand, and East Kilbride Community Trust and Portree & Braes Community Trust in the English strand.

This is about helping communities capture and share their own stories of land, their journey of community empowerment, and to celebrate their achievements in the process.

£3,500 artist fee, Fair Work compliant, plus a budget for travel and access across both paired communities. Outputs could include performed pieces, filming for the 100year.scot archive, and a possible slot at the 2027 Storytelling Festival.

Hear directly from the people behind these organisations, explore their projects and gain practical insights that could help shape your own community ownership journey.

The gathering also offers plenty of opportunities to connect with community landowners and aspiring community landowners from across Scotland through discussion, shared learning and networking.

CALLING ALL CREATIVE PRACTITIONERS

We're commissioning four creative practitioners for paid residencies with four community-owned places across Scotland: GoGirvan!, Kinlochleven, Uig on Skye, and Muckle Roe in Shetland.

This is about land, people and place. Each group needs to engage with its community, and we are looking for people to bring creativity to the mix.

£4,000 artist fee, Fair Work compliant, plus a separate travel and access budget.

We are looking for creative practitioners who know how to co-create with a community to deliver change.

Join us on 22 & 23 October in Ayrshire for a fully funded, residential opportunity to learn from communities leading the way in community ownership.

As part of the gathering, we'll visit Take A Bow Kilmarnock and Ochiltree Community Hub, hearing directly about their experiences, challenges and successes. These study visits offer a chance to see community-led development in action and learn from those who've already navigated the journey.

Alongside the visits, you'll connect with community landowners and aspiring community landowners from across Scotland for two days of peer learning, discussion and networking.

We'll visit Broadford & Strath Community Company and Camuscross and Duisdale Initiative, providing an opportunity to hear first-hand about their projects, achievements and lessons learned along the way.

Over two days, you'll also meet fellow community landowners and aspiring community landowners, sharing experiences, ideas and practical insights in a supportive environment.
