POSITIVE FRIDAY NEWS STORY! 🎉
We’re really proud to share that we now have a public defibrillator installed on our building.

This has been a real community effort and wouldn’t have been possible without support from Gateshead Council’s Local Councillor’s Fund, The Ballinger Charitable Trust and Red Sky Foundation.

A special shoutout goes to our weekly youth club 'Big Kidz Only' in partnership with Youth Focus: North East, who created a fundraising video to help bring the project to life. The young people put together an amazing application to The Ballinger Charitable Trust explaining why a publicly accessible defibrillator is so important for our community.

We were also delighted to welcome Catherine Donovan, who supported the project through the Local Councillor’s Fund and came along to officially cut the ribbon alongside one of our young people from Big Kidz ✂️

The team from Red Sky Foundation also joined us for the ribbon cutting after providing the defibrillator unit, and they’ll be supporting our staff team with CPR training too.

This project started with recognising a need in our local area and grew through collaboration, generosity and young people wanting to make a difference. We hope this defibrillator gives reassurance to our community and, if ever needed, helps save lives.

The children had an absolute blast in our Holiday Programme this week at Jump Giants, bouncing, laughing, and burning off lots of energy and enjoyed a colourful tie-dye session! 🌈🎨

Friday was a perfect day for a bike ride and we made the most of it with a group ride to Gateshead Staithes with the fantastic Bike Doctor Dave. Great effort and team spirit from everyone involved! Some in the group hadn't been on a bike in 10 years but were riding with confidence by the end of the ride. Such a great way to get around and there's some great bike routes right on our doorstep. Thanks to Dave for leading the ride and providing bikes. Watch this space for more rides to come later this year. Well done team!
