Veterans With Dogs is a small, national charity that trains and partners assistance dogs with veterans experiencing mental health challenges such as PTSD.

This Bank Holiday Monday, the Veterans and Reserve Forces Network at easyJet will be taking part in the epic Dorset Plane Pull at Bournemouth Airport! The team of 20 will be pulling a commercial airliner 50m up the runway!

This awesome network have pledged to raise £20,000 for Veterans With Dogs to sponsor an Assistance Dog into our programme. They've run marathons and 10k races, they've held network days and bake sales and this is their next epic event before they lace up their boots in September to take on the challenge!

We recently received the residual amount from a wonderful legacy gift that Veterans With Dogs originally received in 2024. It really has been the gift that keeps on giving. 💙🐾

It's National Dog Day!

Could you help raise a future life-changer? 🐾 We're always looking for Puppy Socialisers in the South West to help give our future assistance dogs the very best start in life.

It's a hugely rewarding role, because the puppy you help raise today could one day transform the life of a veteran living with mental health challenges.

"After losing my own dog of 17 years and being retired, the role of being a Puppy Socialiser is a perfect fit for me. Exercising the puppy is a reason to go out regularly, I have a supportive network of other dog walkers, I love doing it. I’d recommend it to anyone else who is considering donating their time. It’s obviously sad when the time comes to pass the puppy on to their new home, but I know they will be an amazing support for someone and that’s what it’s all about.”

As a Puppy Socialiser, you'll welcome a Veterans With Dogs puppy into your home and, with the support and guidance of our training team, help them develop the confidence, skills and experiences they'll need for their future.

Did we mention that Veterans With Dogs has been shortlisted in the ‘Small Charity Partnership’ category at the Third Sector awards this year?

It is wonderful to be nominated in recognition of our incredible and longstanding partnership with Forthglade Natural Pet Food, who have supported us in so many ways in the last nine years!

Last night’s shortlist event was filled with such wonderful people in our sector coming together to share experiences and celebrate our great causes.

Fingers crossed for the awards event next month!
