Our amazing Community Dog Artie is having a pawsome day at the SSCE Cymru Armed Forces Festival – EAST at the Infantry Battle School in Brecon today! 🐾🇬🇧

We’re joining Service children in workshops focused on history, health and wellbeing, creativity and team building, offering comfort, confidence and a few extra cuddles along the way. 💜

Huge thanks to SSCE Cymru and all the schools, Service families and partners involved in celebrating and supporting our Armed Forces children.

Every Veteran’s journey is unique — shaped by individual experiences, needs, and aspirations. That’s why, at Veterans With Dogs, we believe there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution.

Each of our assistance dogs is meticulously trained and matched to meet the specific needs of their Veteran partner. It’s a partnership built on understanding, patience, and genuine connection, where tailored training transforms not just skills, but daily life, confidence, and independence.

No two partnerships look the same. Whether it’s navigating the bustle of city streets or finding reassurance in quiet moments at home, our dogs are there for the highs and the lows — steadfast companions every step of the way.

Because behind every successful partnership is a story of trust, resilience, and the life-changing power of working together.

A massive thank you to East Devon Crematorium for their incredibly generous donation of £1,000 to Veterans With Dogs during Remembrance Month.

We’re especially grateful to be recognised and supported by local organisations who understand the importance of connection, community, and the ongoing journey our Veterans take. Together, we can make a real difference and keep transforming lives through trust, companionship and practical support that lasts well beyond any single visit or training session.

Thank you, East Devon Crematorium, for standing with us and with every Veteran whose life is changed by their partnership with an assistance dog.

This week at Veterans With Dogs is a very special one, it’s Alumni Week!

We’re delighted to welcome back a wonderful group of Veterans and their dogs for another residential visit. These reunions are a celebration of partnership, connection, and trust. Over the days ahead, we’ll spend time revisiting the core skills that bring calm and confidence to each team, while also sharing stories, laughter, and the quiet moments that strengthen bonds in ways words can’t quite capture.

Each partnership tells its own story, of mutual understanding, unspoken communication, and the trust that grows from walking side by side through life’s challenges. Alumni Week reminds us that the journey doesn’t end with training; it continues, deepening with every step taken together.

Here’s to a week filled with learning, laughter, shared experiences, and the enduring connection between Veterans and their dogs, a partnership built on trust, respect, and the power of working as one.

We're bursting with pride seeing our PALS puppies taking part in Remembrance commemorations across the country.

These young assistance dogs-in-training have been at the heart of our local ceremonies, standing quietly with their handlers in honour of those who served and remembering those who continue to stand for our freedom. From observing the two-minute silence at war memorials to walking with parades and sharing quiet moments at the cenotaph, they've shown real dignity and respect, reminding us all what true partnership looks like.

Watching our puppies learn the ropes in such meaningful settings is a poignant reminder of why we do what we do. Every wagging tail and calm sit is a testament to the hope and companionship these dogs offer veterans living with hidden wounds.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our mission and to the communities who welcomed our teams so warmly. We couldn't be prouder of our PALS puppies and the role they play in bringing people together to remember, reflect, and heal.

Lest we forget.

Charwell Dog Adventures and Wacky Woofers Dog Shop has truly outdone themselves this Remembrance season!

Their stunning display of handcrafted red and purple poppies, created in partnership with the 1st Callington Scout Group, is a moving tribute to all those who have served—both people and animals alike.

Every poppy sponsored goes directly to support Veterans With Dogs, helping us provide expertly trained assistance dogs to veterans across the UK. With your help, we’re changing lives—one wet nose at a time.

Pop along to the display until 30th November, and donate in person at the shop or online. Sponsoring a poppy for just £5 goes a long way, but any contribution makes a difference.

Let’s show our support for veterans and their dogs this Remembrance—huge thanks to Charwell and everyone backing the campaign!

Resilience isn’t simply about never falling, it’s about having the heart to stand back up, even when life knocks us sideways. So many veterans know the pain of being let down by others, or feeling left behind. But there’s one bond that never wavers: the steadfast partnership with an assistance dog.

When people disappoint or drift away, our dogs remain, providing unwavering support, loyalty, and comfort when it’s needed most. Each partnership on our PALS programme proves that, even in a world full of uncertainties, the connection with your assistance dog is rock solid.

For anyone feeling the weight of setbacks or lost trust, take heart: you’re not alone in your journey. Our assistance dogs are living proof that hope, healing, and strength are possible, even after others have let you down.
