Funding available from the CalMac Community Fund.

The CalMac Community Fund was established to make a difference to the communities in which CalMac operates by supporting local groups to tackle local needs. The fund aims to help people connect with services and each other, especially helping those who are most in need.

Apply by: 16th November 2026

𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞: We can only accept applications from organisations based on the islands served by CalMac, and coastal mainland ports that CalMac operate from. These areas are listed on the fund page. If you are not based in one of these islands or mainland port towns, you should not apply.

The New Cumnock Education & Training Fund has made a resounding start following its launch in July, supporting local people to learn new skills, gain qualifications and improve their job prospects.

16 awards have already been made totalling £17,689, and which are all supporting local people to learn new skills, gain qualifications and improve their job prospects.

Provided by RWE's Enoch Hill Wind Farm Community Fund, the awards support learners at different ages and levels, and those moving into a new career or building a local business.

The Essentia Foundation is continuing its grantmaking legacy 🎉

The Essentia Foundation has marked another milestone in its commitment to strengthening communities across Scotland, unveiling a brand‑new cohort of awardees.

This latest round of funding highlights the Foundation’s continued dedication to supporting initiatives that improve the lives of young people across the country.

From youth development and mental health support to arts engagement, outdoor learning, and employment training, the 2026 awardees represent the breadth of innovation happening across Scotland’s voluntary sector.

In August, 30 organisations received awards across 10 different local authorities.

Rewilding Affric Highlands (RAH) aims to bring together communities, landowners and businesses in a shared mission to restore habitats across more than 200,000 hectares of the central highlands. The goal is to create a resilient, regenerating landscape where people and nature can thrive.

The Great Glen Energy Co-op funding enabled the design and delivery of a three-day experiential education programme of ‘Hill to Grill’ delivered to 38 students at Glen Urquhart High School, Drumnadrochit, followed by a community showcase event attended by 80 people.

The educational programme featured land management, conservation, and sustainable food practices, including workshops, field experiences, cooking demonstrations, and a community showcase event.

Funding boost for Fife community projects 🎉

Thirteen community organisations across the East Neuk of Fife have shared more than £20,000 from the Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) Offshore Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund, supporting projects that range from children's activities and literacy programmes to community facilities and cultural events.

Over its 25-year lifetime, the NnG offshore wind farm is expected to provide around £6.75 million in community benefit funding to coastal communities in Fife, East Lothian and the Scottish Borders.
