We are thrilled to be officially launching the Scottish Youth Climate Coalition (SYCC)!

At a time when the far-right and their climate denial agenda is on the rise, it’s vital that we stand up for people and planet, and against fascism.

The Coalition brings together six of the largest youth climate groups across Scotland:
-Young Friends of the Earth Scotland
-2050 Climate Group
-Teach the Future Scotland
-Young Sea Changers Scotland
-Green New Deal Rising
-People and Planet Edinburgh.
With support from many other groups. Collectively we represent thousands of young people aged 16-30 from all over the country.

Over the past several months we have developed a list of demands focused on key areas of interest to young people. These focus areas are:
-Energy⚡️
-Transport🚌
-Education and Employment🏫
-Marine🌊
-Circular Economy♻️

On Wednesday 22nd April, we are hosting the Scottish Youth Climate and Nature Hustings at Augustine United Church in Edinburgh, and online. You can get your free tickets on Eventbrite or by clicking the link in our bio!

You can also head over to the Teach the Future website to contact your MSP candidates and grade them on how they respond to our demands.

If you want to get involved with the Coalition, send us as email at [email protected]

Campaign focus 4: Marine

Our campaign is calling for:
1.Commit to protecting sensitive species and habitats by banning destructive fishing (including bottom-trawling and dredging) practices in Marine Protected Areas (MPAs).
2.Reduce sources of pollution by imposing strict regulations, penalties and targets for sewage, agricultural and aquacultural sectors as well as banning/limiting single use and harmful plastic products.
3.Ensure every young people grows up understanding how their actions affect the sea and why a healthy marine environment is important for them by embedding ocean and climate education into the school curriculum.

Join us at the Youth Climate Hustings to hear directly from the Scottish political parties what their priorities are for youth and climate.
- Wednesday 22nd April - 7pm - 9pm
- Online and at the Augustine United Church, Edinburgh
- Anyone is welcome to attend, but only young people (30 and under) will have the chance to ask questions.

The Scottish Youth Hustings will take place on Wednesday, 22nd of April 2026 in Edinburgh and online!

Are you a young person in Scotland, and care about our shared planet? Do you want politicians to finally listen to the voices of those who are inheriting the world they leave behind? Then come along to the Scottish Youth Climate Coalition’s hustings to ask political candidates hard-hitting questions from a youth perspective!

Over 60% of young people aged 8-35 report that they feel worried about the future as a result of the climate. A similar number also say that they feel their voices are not listened to by decision makers. It’s our future the politicians are messing with!

The event is open for everyone; however, as it is a YOUTH hustings, only those aged 30 or younger will be able to ask questions to the political representatives.

Sign up to attend in-person or online via Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/scottish-election-youth-climate-husting-tickets-1983782380502 (or go to the YFoES Eventbrite)

Look out for the YFoES banners!

With the continued lack of action on the climate crisis, crackdowns on the right to protest, attacks on refugees and the rise of the far-right, and the genocide in Gaza, it has never been more important for people to take to the streets to demand a better world. The Youth Bloc leading the march is a show of force that young people in Scotland have had enough of world ‘leaders’ and billionaires. Change is coming, and we are that change.

All young people are welcome to join the bloc, though children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
