18.06.26 – Men's Group Visit to The Neurotherapy Place
Our Men's Group had the opportunity to visit The Neuro Therapy Place and learn about the wide range of services it provides to people living with neurological conditions. The discussion explored how their therapies and holistic approach can benefit individuals, including some people living with dementia, where appropriate and consent-led.
We were inspired by their warm, welcoming environment and their commitment to improving wellbeing through services such as oxygen therapy, neuro-physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and complementary therapies. Thank you to the team for sharing their knowledge and the positive impact of their work.

🚨 Breaking the Silence on Domestic Violence 🚨
Yesterday at NK's, we had a powerful and much-needed session on Domestic Violence, led by the inspiring Sana Illyas from Women Aid.
The conversation was eye-opening, courageous, and long overdue. Domestic violence thrives in silence β€” and yesterday, we chose to speak up.
Key takeaways:
πŸ”Έ Recognising the signs β€” it's not always visible
πŸ”Έ How to support survivors without judgment
πŸ”Έ Resources available through Women Aid
πŸ”Έ Breaking the cycle starts with awareness
Every voice matters. Every story deserves to be heard. πŸ’œ
A huge thank you to Sana Illyas for her dedication, knowledge, and compassion in leading this session.
Let's keep this conversation going.

We are delighted to announce that NKS has successfully secured 10 years of funding through the Regenerative Futures Fund (RFF)!

As one of 11 projects in this pioneering initiative, NKS will be part of a shared learning ecosystem working towards a more just, regenerative, and connected Edinburgh. Through collaboration, collective learning, and systems change, we will work alongside partners to tackle poverty, strengthen communities, and create lasting impact across the city.

This investment is not just about fundingβ€”it is about building a shared future where organisations, communities, and institutions work together to create meaningful and sustainable change.
Thank you to everyone who has supported our journey. We look forward to contributing to this exciting citywide movement over the next decade.

🌱🌱🍚 NKS Online Cookery Sessions – Turning Leftovers into Delicious Meals! 🍚🌱
We recently hosted two fantastic volunteer-led online cookery sessions, where participants learned how to transform leftover rice into amazing dishes while helping to reduce food waste.
πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ In our first session, Nidhi Priya Thakur demonstrated how to make a delicious Mango Rice Pudding using leftover rice.
πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ In our second session, Reena Sharma introduced participants to a traditional regional delicacy from Bihar and Chhattisgarh called Farra, also prepared using leftover rice.
These sessions highlighted the importance of the 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle – and how simple changes in our kitchens can help reduce food waste and help tackle climate change.
A big thank you to our wonderful volunteers and everyone who joined the sessions. Participants thoroughly enjoyed learning new recipes, sharing ideas, and discovering sustainable cooking practices.
πŸ“… Join us for our next online cookery session:
