Parent & Carer Support Group, we’re Back After Summer!

Our first Parent & Carer Support Group after the summer holidays is happening this week, and we’d love to welcome you in.

If the summer has felt long, busy, overwhelming, or just a bit different from the usual routine, you’re not alone.

This session is a gentle space to reconnect, breathe, share what’s been going on, and feel supported by people who truly understand the ups and downs of caring for a child or young person with Additional and Complex Support Needs.

☕ Expect warm conversation, low‑pressure chat, and space to simply be.

No agenda, no expectations, just community.

✨ This is our only support group before the September break.

Our first Tweens session after the summer is happening this Sunday, and we can’t wait to see everyone again! ✨🎮

It’s been a long break, and we know routines can feel a bit wobbly after the holidays. Our Tweens group is a relaxed, low‑pressure space where P4–S1 young people with ASN can ease back in gently, reconnect, and just be themselves.

We’ll have:
🕹️ Gaming and tech
🧱 Lego and creative building
🎨 Crafts and chill‑out activities
🎲 Board games and space to hang out

Parents and carers are welcome to stay, grab a cuppa, and take a breather while the young people settle in.

We’re taking on the Edinburgh Kiltwalk!

On Sunday13th September, our biggest team yet 10 amazing walkers - will be stepping out in tartan to raise funds for Dunbar ASN Community Collective SCIO.

Every mile walked helps us keep creating low‑demand, relationship‑based spaces for families, non‑school attenders, and our wider ASN community. We’re so proud of our team for taking this on and representing the heart of our charity.

As our 2026 Summer Programme comes to an end, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who made it so special.

A massive shout‑out to our wonderful partners:
• Budding Engineers CiC for their creative BlocksCAD sessions
• John Muir Alpacas for gentle, joyful outdoor experiences
• Reptizoo Encounters for sensory‑friendly animal encounters
• East Lothian Play Association for fun, accessible play activities

And a heartfelt thank‑you to Active & Nourished East Lothian 2026 for the funding that made this entire programme possible. Your support allowed us to offer a summer full of free, inclusive opportunities for children and young people with additional and complex support needs, their siblings, and parent carers.

To our families and volunteers, thank you for being part of our wee community. Your encouragement keeps us going.

Another amazing day spent with some wonderful families. This time at John Muir Alpacas. We had a mini trek up to see the newborn Alpacas and their mums. Then we walked back down for a picnic and marshmallow toasting.

We even got to trial the new all-terrain wheelchair, we borrowed from TheSpace Dunbar. Allowing everyone be included in the trek. Big Thanks.

Lots of big smiles. What a great way to spend the summer holidays.
