Pilot Constructing Futures Programme for women

We're excited to launch our new 2-week pilot Constructing Futures training programme, starting Monday 7 September 2026!

This is a fantastic opportunity for 4 women to gain practical, hands-on experience in the construction industry while building confidence and developing new skills.

🔨 You'll learn:
🪨 Drystone walling
🪵 Basic joinery and woodworking
🪓 Stone lettering and carving

You'll also receive support from our Employability Team with:
✔️ CV writing
✔️ Job applications
✔️ Employability skills
✔️ Creating a digital portfolio to showcase everything you learn during the course

📅 Course Dates: 7–18 September 2026

To take part, you'll need to be available for the full two weeks.

📌 Application deadline: Midnight, Friday 28 August 2026

📍 Interviews: Monday 31 August – Thursday 3 September 2026

We are devastated to share with you the news of John Irvine's death this week. John was a Trustee of The Ridge SCIO and Chair of The Ridge Foundations CIC from 2018 until ill health forced him to step down.

He gave us his time, expertise and energy so generously. We are going to miss him hugely.

Our thoughts are with his wife Kate, his family and all his very many friends.
