We are a service providing a safe social space for older people and their carers at our building with a community outreach arm supporting carers and enabling older people to continue living a full life. Dunbar Day Centre opened in 1976 after Molly Keith saw a severe lack of community facilities for older people in Dunbar at the time and it is the oldest day Centre in East Lothian. The Centre is re
gistered to support 16 adults a day, providing respite for carers and families, opportunities for socialising and meeting new people as well as preventing social isolation and alleviating loneliness. We also have a drop-in service on a Tuesday between 2.15pm-3.45pm where people are welcomed to come for a hot drink, snack and conversation with others.
