The Depot We provide help and human kindness to those in need including Asylum Seekers and Refugees within in Dumfries and Galloway, further afield and overseas.

We are a registered charity SCO46366 The Depot is a local charity committed to spreading love, kindness, unity and understanding throughout the region and across the globe. We believe that, together, we can build a better world; one where hatred has no home and people treat others the way that they would like to be treated. We rely on the goodwill of our lovely volunteers to keep us going and we'd

Sunday activities at our Pop Up Shop! Lots of coastal craft projects 🌊🐚🖌️📽️

10-12 o’clock: learn about ‘Voices from the Edge - An Intertidal Almanac’ - a project led by writer Sara Thomas and artist Lucy Lee (with funding from Species on the Edge).

Come to our crafting corner 🎨🌱using art materials made from shoreline plants!

Plus videos and photos of the New Scots creative workshop.

2 o’clock: watch the short film ‘Stories from the Solway’ a film and photography project involving young local Scots and New Scots getting to know our coastline.

All of this happened, and we have already started embroidering our Rushnyk, which will become part of the Great Tapestry of Unity — a Tapestry of Victory for peace in Ukraine. Following tradition, the embroidery was begun with a prayer for peace. We believe that God will hear our prayers and help Ukraine achieve a just and lasting peace.
